  4. Hey fellow Jan sleevers. I cant complain too much as I have been loosing at a pretty good clip till about 2 weeks ago. Would love to heard from my peers from Jan: - have you plateaued? - If so for how long? - What did you do to bust thru or just wait it out? - Any change in diet / exercise you think triggered it? Thx
  5. First congrats on the great progress all Stalled for the last 2 weeks (ok down a pound in last day but could be an anomaly) I can empathize
  6. canuckpaisa

How much will I really lose?

JonB WOW What is your routine like food and excersize wise to loose at that clip?
  7. Anyone else have a long stall at this time period? Exercising (swim/eliptical) 45 mins 5x a week Cals between 800 and 1200 as per NUT 80+ OZ Water and high Protein Have been losing at a pretty darn good clip till now. Kind of depressing as even with WW I would average over 2 lbs a week Wondering if the 600cals post op really screwed up my metabolism Love to hear from others who had a stall at this time and what they did about it
  8. mikeross - how many calls/water/pr/exercise are you at/doing
  9. thanks for the tips anyone else see this?
  10. Would love for folks to add the foods that are sliders for them - ones that literally are not subject to restriction feeling and can be dangerous unless measured out. Here are a few from me (I am 2 months out today so have not went to things like ice cream which I know would be a slider ...) 1) Popcorn - extreme danger for me! 2) Rice pudding (weird other puddings fill me up quicker) 3) Egg beaters (funny as I know good for me but I just cant feel full on them) Love to hear yours
  11. here are mine. Down 53 in 2 months since surgery. Down 93 since Oct last year

    2 months sleeve-a-verary for me today! 373 max Oct 15, 2012 356 Nov 15, 2012 first doc visit 333 Jan 16, 2013 surgery today 280 - down 93 from max and 53 since surgery 2 months ago
  18. Thanks all. I use Biotene and it is indeed helpful, just a pain in the but!
  19. Well at 2 months today! Here is the skinny (pun intended) Plus: - down 93 lbs from max Oct 2012 - Down 53 post op in the 2 months, including 18.3 lbs in month 2 - no vomiting - no sagging skin - yet - pretty good restriction when eating 20 lbs below 300 when I had thought when 373 that Id be more likely to see 400 Delta - weight loss is slowing quite a bit - still dry mouth at night even with tons of Water - feel hungrier than I thought I would be - too many things go down way too easy Attached 4 pics. - One with my wife at Christmas in 2011 (not at max yet) - One in Colombia Nov 2012 on my last hurrah before pre op diet - One in my office the day before surgery - A pic from ipad today Thank you for this site for al its inspiration. You all can and will be successful. Kevin
  20. thank you the dry mouth really is a pain - not sure how to fix
  21. So here is my info: Oct 7/12 - 373 (183 excess) Nov 15/12 - 356 - first doc appt and baseline for my "prep" (166 excess) Jan 16/13 - 333 - sleeve date (143 excess) Today I am 284. My doctor said 190 is goal to use. As such depending which baseline you calc to, I am 3 days shy of 8 weeks post op and: 34% down from excess at date of surgery (under 8 weeks) 43% down from 1st doc appt (16 weeks total) 49% down from max (21 weeks)
  22. Hello monthly sleeve-mates! Just wanted to see how everyone is doing as our Jan group has been quite quiet! My sleeve was Jan 16. Today (Mar 4) is 2 days away from finishing 7 weeks and my data is: - 46 lbs down from dat of surgery - 69 lbs down from first doc appt Nov 15 - 85 lbs down from max of 373 on Oct 7, 2012 Onto normal foods. liquid is at high level of intake but if under 2L a day I get a gout attack! Ouch! Protein is nice and high. Definately feel the restriction with regular food, but am very cautious of slider type food as goes down too easy and too much. Not trying to do so, but just observing my bodies reply. Looking forward to hitting century down mark in March or early April! How are you all doing
  23. As I was completing (for the first time post op) 1.5 km in the pool today I was wondering who swims for exercise? How much do you do? How often? Do you combine with other cardio? resistance training? Swimming has been working great for me - just curious to hear from others
  24. canuckpaisa

Cardio exercises without putting weight on foot?

I have bad gout - swimming is my choice!
