    Onederland!

That elusive onederland has found you, Congrats! I have not seen that number 1 since what Senior Year (1986). So looking forward to being part of that club.
  3. I have BC/BS TX and the physician fee is 80/20 so I will pay 574.00 up front to the surgeon. The hospital will be 90/10 with me having to pay 10% of hospital fee which is billed after surgery. I have met my 2500.00 deductible already. The sleep study and EGD took care of that and I am on a payment plan with that. Sleep study was not required but my PCP wanted it done based on symptoms I was having and yep I have really bad sleep apnea durin REM sleep.

    May 20th

Hello my sleeve sisters. My date is the 20th as well. Can you believe it is 45 days away! Trying to incorporate more healthy lifestyle tips each day. I will have surgery in Houston, Texas. Thankfully Blue Cross is covering the procedure at 90% hospital and 80% physician fee. So I will be out of pocket 574.00. Have you all started making lifestyle changes? Which do you think will be the most difficult?

    Surgery set for April 16

This site has truly been wonderful on this journey. I too have Dr. Yu in Houston as my surgeon and my date is 05/20. Which hospital will you be using. I know he goes to a few different ones. I will be at Park Plaza. So I will really want to hear about your experience. I just got my sampler pack fron unjury protien powders. I'm going to try and do the pre-op diest for a few days to start testing different tastes. I've tried to Premier Protein Shakes and they are tolerable.

    Weepy Emotional Mess

I think the emotional roller coaster happens in pre and post op. I'm due to have surgery 05/20 and I have had a few cryung spells.

    2 days post operation.

Have you tried the Gas X strips? And walk, walk and more walking. It can take up to week and half from what I've read from others for all that gas to find it's way out. Also some have used a warm heating pad. Try warm tea for your bowels and some have used liquid colace. Also pain meds will cause constiptaion.
  12. Not sure how big your toddler is but take it easy and listen to your body. I know we moms think we can often do more than our bodies can. But rememeber you have had major surgery. So take it easy.

How much will I really lose?

Been thinking the same since I'm at the lower BMI scale. What and who determines "how much" excess weight you have and how is that number calculated. I do know eight charts don't sometimes take into account body frame size. I'm 5"8" 242 and my dad is 6'4" and his mother was 6' herself so we are larger framed and weighing what some of these charts say would make me look like Annie(anerexic). Not a good look.

    May 2013 Sleevers!

My date is May 20th. Surgery in Houston,Tx. I'm 5 8 and my highest weight 248. Went to doctor today and weigh 242 . The first change I decided to make was no sodas the month of March. Note I've been cutting down on the white stuff, bread, sugar, potatoes, rice. Next get moving. I really have no set weight. My goals are to be rid of medications!! But my surgeon says I will lose about 65/70 pounds. I have been over 200 pounds for 20+ years. I am 45 and my husband is my only support family wise. I have told one co worker, she supports me. I have a gastric bypass friend that is supportive. I told my 16 year old and it was a teary conversation on her part. But I'm determined to not be on these 10 pills a day.
