I am super excited now, I ready to get it going got alot of stuff together before my big grand brand new life...................So excited...Got so much I want to say but to excited can't even get it all out....I did ask him a question that brought chuckles to the room. I ask him you some of us older women getting sleeved are not as perky as we used to be and we don't want know one tripping over the boobies during surgery, so what you gonna do with them.....ROFL.....He said strangely enough that is not the first time I was asked that......Lovely man with a great sense of humor. 3. I got great tip my NUT today she said to make my broths/soup up and freeze them in ice cube trays and bag them 2 ice cubes to a bag and I have ready made meals.....will be doing that this weekend...
  4. I had to do the same thing today, I lost 11-12 lbs, and my Dr was truly excited for me. Your surgeon might cancel. Losing weight prior to surgery shows him 2 things, that your liver is shrinking and that you will and can adhere to the protocols after your sleeved is performed. You don't have to give out the foods you like, it's not like you will ever have them again, you will just in smaller amounts. I would get on the that quick face and in a hurry. Even during my preop diet or what my Dr's office call is my Bari Diet, I till ate the things I like with the exceptions of the carbs and the amount of it I eat. I love Chinese food, so what I would do is got to the buffet and get a to go box and maybe a tablespoon or 2 of rice and the rest veggies and protein, eating most of the protein first, why leaving less room for me to eat all the rice. And it worked 12 lbs lost. I even had a cookie and an orange slice or 2 every now and then......

    February Sleevers

We don't know why some things happen but God does. Think of it as a blessing. Cause we just never know what we might have been saved from....
  6. I dont plan on taking much myself. No pj or nities, don't want to run the risk of getting any blood on them, they provide you with nice purple gripping socks and I am good with that. I will bring my phone and tablet, tablet I takes notes on and write down any question i need answers to and instructions and tips. i can read on my tablet and listen to music as the hospital I will be in has free WiFi for everyone in the hospital. I brought a sweat suit if you will that I will wear to the hospital and wear home. I will have it on about 1 hour tops so it will be clean, a couple of pairs of underwear/panities, a bra, probably a front closing sports bra. And my blankie....lol yeah I said blankie...don't judge me....lol... That is about all I am taking and will need. They have these huge gowns which will double as a robe so I am good. Oh and my head phones gotta listen to my tune, more thank likely will have a private room so I am str8. Best of Luck everyone

    Great day - Feeling normal

You have truly said a mouthful. Here's the thing I truly get your point. I am still pre pre-op if that makes sense to you and I am sure it does. Today wasn't son good a day but not a bad day, I got my protein is and some carbs, but not that I think about it after reading your post, the carbs I had today was as much carbs as I had all week last week. I am typing post sleeping pill so bear with me....lol...I totally understand and agree with your point. No one ever said we couldn't have or eat anything, we just have to modify how we do that's all. I love orange slices and prior to the seminar back in dec I could eat a hole bag in about 2 days but closer 1., But to date I brought a bag of oranges slices about a 1 week ago and I still have that bag which is about half full still.....I call that PROGRESS for me, just learning my new normal way of living. Great Post Nurse.

  15. Hey Miss Lady, I do understand how you feel. sometimes you have just gotta let it out. I am a nurse to by the way. You are right when you say it is an emotional; roller coaster, but you have to do what you feel is right for you. I have come to find out that everybody is not going to be as supportive as we would like to be or if they even support us at all. Fortunately I was prepared to do this basically along and I prayed real hard and fast for the Lord to be by my side as I embark on this journey. And you know what some wonderful things have happen, The few people I have told have been very supportive, people you I thought wouldn't understand but they do and I am grateful. Of course I spoke to my children first and they wanted to know WHY WHY MOM you don't need to do that you look fine. Ahhhh but what looks good on the outside is not always how it is on the inside, so I began to explain my reasons for wanting to do it, my daughter after a lengthy decision she understood and was encouraging, my son however was not easily moved by the surgery or my reasons for it. But we talked some more about it, he still doesn't want me to do but he is supportive none the less. You look like you are a praying woman, and I would say to you, don't worry about things that have not happen, he is always there to help us and put things in perspective, as you walk this journey of weight loss through sx allow him to lead and guide you. Those things you think you don't have strength enough to resist allow the Lord to take over that burden for you. Those things you can control do so and those that you can't allow the Lord to take care of it for you. He wants that we be happy and healthy and if we trust and believe he will take control and help use through. This is a good forum you have come to wil people understanding what you are dealing with. I just hope and pray that my words have brought you some comfort. If you ever want to need feel free to contact me.....Prayer for you my pre-sleeved sister.....
  16. Firelle I know right. Don't know what my docs put in the package to the insurance company, but they sent my approval letter stating it was medical neccessary for me to have the sleeve and gave me a 5 day hospital stay
  17. I received a letter also from my insurance company with the wrong date I spoke with the surgeons office and they told me they had to give a tentative to the insurance company but they will or already have changed it and I should expect another letter with the correct date. You were only approved for a 1 day stay, I got approved for 5 not sure how but very glad just in case i need more than a couple. The other good thing is I am 400 dollars from meeting my deductible, isn't that lovely...yes yes yes
  18. Try some sugar free gum to take care of that chewing urge.
  19. Evening Nuff, Ihave some suggestions for you, first increase your water intake, get you some mint tea nice and hot with fresh lemon juice and honey, that should help clear you up. Also I have a recipe for chicken soup that will help clear you up. I know you are on all liquids so you will have to give the chicken to someone else but here goes: Get you about 5-6 chicken wings, in pot with 4 cups of water, 2 packs of sazon seasoning, i half onion chopped and 2 or 3 celery stalks, some fresh ground pepper, let it cook till chicken falls off the bone and have at it. This will also work for your puree phase also. Try those things and let me know how you feel after wards.... Praying for you....
