5 lbs. to onderland....Is this even possible!
wannabaloser replied to RJ'S/beginning's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Omg, you have to feel amazing! I am 2.5 months postop and I have lost 53 pounds since my surgery day. I started out at 310. I am starting to get worried about saggy skin since I am loosing so fast. Do you have much saggy skin? Should I start exercising to reduce it? What exercises and other treatments do you use? -
I am 5'3, started at 310 on surgery date and now I am 262. Thats 48 in exactly 2 months.
-
I started at 310. No I didnt have a medical diet because I went to Mexico and paid cash. I did have a 2 week pre op diet which I totally blew. I did not lose 1 pound. I did have the dreaded 3rd week stall. I knew about it though so it wasnt that bad. I lost 32 pounds in 2 weeks then stalled for 3 or 4 then lost the remainder since then.

I am 8 weeks post op and I live in Houston also. What area do you live in and who was your Doctor in Mexico?

I am doing great! I am 8 weeks out and have lost 48 pounds. I get full very quick so I dont eat much at all. My clothes are getting really loose. I am so happy I did this. The only thing I am unhappy about is that I am already noticing saggy skin. I am about to join a gym to work on that as soon as we move November 1st.

1 month monday down 48 lbs
wannabaloser replied to crystal916's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I have lost 40 pounds in one month and 10 days and I don't see it either. Everyone else does though. I am like you with Protein shakes. I am making smoothies with the powder to try to lile it better. I also either have diarrhea (sorry, tmi) or horrible heartburn after I do the Protein drinks. I had energy issues the first week or so but now I feel great. I am super glad I chose this surgery and honestly ig I don't lose another pound I will still be happy. -
They are really good and I do not like any Protein powders I have tried. I get the strawberry with strawberries as the only fruit. You can get double strawberries but it does add more carbs. The chocolate is good too but I don't get any fruit in that. Ask for fresh fruit or they may give you some that has soaked in sugar. Also the one I go to has some flavors that aren't advertised like lean 1 Cookies and cream which is good too.

I got sleeved in Mexico 5 weeks ago. I am doing great. I have always been a fast healer and this surgery was no exception. The only issue I had was getting wore out extremely easy after moving around. I hsve lost 36 pounds. The first 32 pounds came off in the first two weeks. I just dropped the other four after a 3 week stall. I am very happy so far.

When do the "bubble guts" go away?
wannabaloser replied to endless80's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 5 weeks out and mine still does it. It's so odd. I will never get used to it. I hope other people don't notice it. -
I am setting here in Tijuana Mexico scared to death. What is wrong with me that I can't lose weight on my own? This seems just crazy! I cannot believe it has come to the point of me flying (my biggest fear in life) to another country and letting them cut my stomach out (needles are my 2nd fear). Why can I not just do this on my own? This is honestly the scariest thing I have ever done. On the other hand everything has gone great so far. Our plane was early, our driver was there waiting, he pointed out sites in San Diego snd Tijuana, and the hotel is great. The only thing I would change is I wish I had taken a later flight. I landed at 10am, got to the hotel around 11, but check in time wasn't until 3. They were able to get us in a room a little after 1 though. Of course the worst part was the only thing to do during that time was to go to the restaurant. My daughter enjoyed it while I starved and 2nd guessed myself. Anyways, does this feeling of wanting to run home go away?

Oh by the way, that is a very nice thing you are doing for her. A cake like that can run around $1000. Maybe you will get orders at the wedding and this will be the start of a new business!! -

I love baking as well, just for us and nothing fancy like that. I have noticed after I bake somethingI have NO desire to eat it. Its the strangest thing. If I do want to eat some its 2 days later and its all gone anyways. My mother in law said when she was pregnant with ny husband she craved baked goods. She would go through all the trouble of baking and then her craving would be gone and everyone else would eat it. I guess it's a normal thing. -
1 month post op..need suggestions!
wannabaloser posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery on 8/10/13 in Tijuana. I have had a very easy recovery. I stay hydrated and eat a little but as well. As of today I am cleared for all food which is exciting because I don't care much about the foods I was allowed in the other stages. I lost 32 pounds the first 2 weeks but nothing since. I know that is normal so I am not freaking out about it. Starting tomorrow I am going to start eating every 2 hours and get 15grams of Protein in with each meal. My questions is does anyone have any suggestions for small meals that will give me 15 grams of protein? I can eat very little still so I need ideas to meet that requirement. I also want to eat a variety of food and not just the same thing daily. I plan on starting off with a fruit or coffee protein smoothie in the mornings so any recipes for those would be great. If you have a recipe that tastes like McDonald's or Starbucks Mocha Frappes that would be awesome. I am a good cook so I appreciate ideas I can make as a family dinner but the easy grab and go protein Snacks will be great as well since most of the time it will just be me eating. Thanks for everyones ideas!! -

Do you use coffee grounds or do you make the coffee up first? -
I had surgery in Mexico and they did not require me to get down to a certain BMI so there is always the Mexico option but I know alot of US surgeons don'trrequire that either.

I started last month at 310 and I am only 5'3. I lost 32 pounds in the first 2 weeks after surgery. You are definitely NOT to big for this surgery. I have seen people that weighed over 400 pounds have it and they are doing great. You can have the surgery also and you will do great also!!
-
I am the same way. I had surgery on 8/10/13. I lost 32 pounds in 2 weeks. Today I am one month out and have not lost another ounce in the last 2.5 weeks. I know it is normal though so i am not stressing. I know with the small amount I eat it would be impossible to not start losing again. I just stay on course and remind myself before surgery if I had lost that amount, which was very unlikely to happen, I would have already gained most or all of it back. Good luck! The scale will start going down for both of us.

1 month out today. I lost 32 pounds in first 2 weeks but nothing since. I am still super happy though and I know I will start losing again.

Fit Frappe Coffee Flavored Protein with Caffeine?
wannabaloser posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
While I was searching through youtube for a frappe like Protein shake recipe I ran across this. Its a protein mix that has 20grams of protein, low carbs, low sugar, and low calories. It also has caffeine as well. They have a few different flavors and all are coffee flavored except the chai tea. You can buy large containera or a sample pack, which is what I plan on ordering. I have never seen anyone else mention this so I wanted to ask if anyone has used it and what they thoughtof it. Also, I know we ccan't have the carbs from sodas but what about caffeine? The only thing I miss post op is McDonald's Mocha Frappes. I have been tempted to get one and add protein to it so I would love to have a coffee protein that came close to theirs. -
Fit Frappe Coffee Flavored Protein with Caffeine?
wannabaloser replied to wannabaloser's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I noticed it was a different kind of Protein but I assumed one was as good as another. I am going to try it anyways. I am only one month out so I am still pretty much drinking my protein. I can only take 2 or 3 bites before I am stuffed and feel lkke I just ate at a buffet. The drinks are getting boring so I am trying anything to spice them up. -

This has to be the rudest thing I have ever seen on a forum!! Obviously she is doing everything she can including seeing doctors, specialists, and asking complete strangers for help.
