To tell or not to tell
Chellennunley replied to cal222's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm in the middle of my 6 month medically supervised diet. I totally understand how you are feeling. I have told my hubs, my mom, children and a select few others. I'm not telling my sisters, even though I KNOW they will support me, but, I'm afraid they will have unrealistic expectations and that will get me down. I'm also not telling my in laws. I feel they will judge me. Think I'm lazy or wanting "the easy way out". Tell only who you want! It's YOUR choice! You need a good support system. -

I wanted to do TOPS, but it wasn't on my list. WW was my cheapest option. -

I could, but I am so afraid of insurance denying me! So I'm just being over cautious. -
6 month diet - Weight watchers?
Chellennunley replied to Rena's got this's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm doing weight watchers. I use the monthly pass so I have access to both online and meetings. That way I have their documentation as well. -
Got some new motivation this weekend! I'm gonna have a grand baby!! One more reason to have this surgery!!

I would have done the same!

Where Is Everyone From?
Chellennunley replied to SleeveShelly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm from NE Mississippi. Corinth to be exact! -
I finally went to the seminar. They only have them once a month and last month I couldn't make it due to weather. There is a really good chance I will have enough past diet documentation that I will cover my insurance 6 month diet requirements! The coordinator for my surgeon told me to go ahead and get the other visits out of the way. My psych eval is wed. Then I have a Cardo eval the middle of march as well asylum Pulmonary eval. (due to my high BMI I have to Get clearance letters). I'm so excited! Praying hard that I have met the requirements and will be sleeved soon!!

New guy here, you've GOT to read this!
Chellennunley replied to BigFrank's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Frank, awesome job!! I'm a 42 yr old, 5'7 and about 424 lbs. it's overwhelming. Your story is very inspiring. I read alot about ppl that have a 100 or so to lose, and here I am with over 200...it overwhelms me. More than I can say. My oldest son just got married a few months ago, and they are talking about starting to have children. That's when it really hit me. I wanna be the fun Grammy. Not the one that just sits and watches. I'm only 42!! My first seminar with the surgeon is Feb11th. And I just started my mandatory 6 month diet. I am hoping to be sleeved before thanksgiving. Thank you for sharing your story. I reinforced I am making the right decision! -
As I have stated before, I am in the beginning stages. Lots of questions! When do you have your psych evaluation and what all do I need to know for this? Thanks!

I spoke with someone with my insurance and with BCBS of AL weight watchers does count. As long as I go 3xs to my doctor for a weigh in during the 6 months.

I go to my first seminar on Feb 11th. Getting pumped to get this party started..lol. Starting weight watchers Tuesday for my 6 month diet. Nice to know there is a group of us starting this around the same time! I'm from Mississippi. :-).

I am planning on using Dr Michael King in Oxford. I go to the first seminar Feb 11th. I was wondering what to expect! I spoke with my insurance company and they suggests I go ahead and start my 6 month diet. So I'm joining Weight Watchers Tuesday. She told me It would work as long as insane my Dr 3 times for a weigh in during that 6 month time frame. What are somethings I need to work on during this phase. I was going to try and not drink while I eat. I see that is something I will have to do, and I drink alot. Dt Pepsi and Water. Anyhoo, besides that, what would be good for me to be doing?

Did you keep your surgery a secret?
Chellennunley replied to KanesMom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm just started my 6 month diet. I am only told my hubs, my oldest son, daughter in law, mom, step dad and one friend. They are all very supportive. I know my sisters and nieces will be as well, and I will tell them, but probably after. I am not ashamed, I just don't want or need the added pressure. I am blessed, my family wants me to get this weight off and will be very supportive. I just need to tell them in MY time. -
Hi, another newbie, just starting out.
Chellennunley posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi, My name is Michelle. Im 42, 5'7 and weigh around 420....Wow, that was hard to type. but I am getting my life back. I scheduled my first seminar and will be starting my 6 month diet. I did weight watchers last year, and looking into how long I was on the program, not sure if it was 6 months or not. I have been lurking here for a while, and have toyed with this idea for a couple of years, but it was only recently my husband got on board, so now is my time! Im nervous, but determined. I know our insurance covers this, and I have the BMI, plus I am a type 2, have sleep apnea, and high blood pressure, so I was told, I just have to follow their guidelines. Sorry, this is rambling...lol..Im trying to multitask and failing miserably! :-) anyway just wanted to say hi!
