Congratulations! You've done great! Rock that sleeve!

Does your sleeve have a name?
nsquared replied to Indigo1991's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Funny! I named my GPS unit Beatrice. No name for my sleeve though. -
Congratulations on your NSV's! Those are amazing and an added bonus. It truly is amazing how life changes.

When I was about a week post op, I was constipated for 9 days. I have never been constipated before and it was just wretched! The doctor's office told me to take Miralax. Two days later I had a BM and have been pretty regular since. No longer a daily event, but I do have a healthy BM 3 - 4 days per week and I haven't had that horrid stopped up feeling again. I think it has to do with the healing and really not much food in the system to waste. I will say that it does pass, but it is not at all a pleasant thing to go through. Hang in there.

6 months out... New before and after pic...
nsquared replied to mrchris's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations! You look fantastic. -
I think it is related to ketosis...high protein/low carb diet. I just bought this herbal breath spray from Whole Foods. I hope it works because I won't use mints or chew gum.

Excuse me, I seem to have misplaced 100 pounds...

Congratulations to you! 100 lbs is a major goal post. -
4 months post-op.....popcorn?
nsquared replied to rxkid2384's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am almost 4 months post op and I have had popcorn twice with no problem. I don't eat it more often because it is a slider food for me. -
Your body should guide your decision. If you are not in pain (real physical pain as opposed to the "this workout sucks!" kind of pain) it should be fine. You may only be able to do a very short amount, but we all have to start somewhere. Only do what you can comfortably do without hurting yourself. When in real doubt consult your doctor and whatever you do, have a fun time with it! The process is difficult. But creating these habits can be fun too.

Good for you! Exercising is so important in this process and it is great that you are developing your habit before surgery. Keep it up.

1 year post-op (with pics)
nsquared replied to Webchickadee's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Good for you! You look great. -
I don't think it's bad. I ate plenty within my first month post op. Now I have a box I haven't touched in about 6 weeks. Maybe when it gets hot I will go back to them. If they are like my little popscicles, each one gives you 2 oz of water, so enjoy!

Help! Hair loss!
nsquared replied to TropicalGirl1205's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am 3 months post op and my hair is falling out. I've decided to live with it because it seems like there is not much to be done about it based on what I have read...and I refuse to gulp down one more pill! It is a matter of degree, I guess. The only person to comment was my hair dresser (no one else has noticed) but of course, she's very familiar with my hair. I am hoping I stop shedding in a month or two but it is really sad watching my hair come out. -
I started at 274 lbs and there are people on this board that started heavier than you. It will all work out as long as you stick with your program. Don't worry about the starting weight. You made a choice to be healthy. Focus on the steps that will get you there!

Congratulations. Good that you had some protein.
-
I am so sad that you had to hear that from your husband. I cannot imagine what you must be feeling. Hang in there. As long as you like you, that is all that matters. *hugs*

I didn't throw up dinner!
nsquared replied to devonmae's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I remember the first time I kept my dinner down. It was a major triumph. Congrats to you! -
Sleeve 2.5months before wedding?
nsquared replied to stacy03's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
If you are anything like me, you will feel just fine at 2 - 2.5 months out. Your biggest problem will be properly sizing your dress because you will be rapidly losing weight during that time. All the best to you and congrats on your coming wedding! -
Been on the pill forever. Still on it with no issues.

what are some easy ways of getting protein in
nsquared replied to toy27's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I put Unjury unflavored protein powder in cold beverages all day. I especially like it in my diet Snapple teas!
