Congratulations! Great work.

36fr bougie. Almost nine weeks post op, surgery was 2/04/2013. I cannot eat 4 oz of sirloin steak in one sitting but I could probably eat 2 oz at a time of dense protein.

Doctor is disappointed
nsquared replied to MsBriteEyez's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Talk about insensitive. IMO, every pound lost is a victory. What a horrible thing for the doctor to say. I am sorry you had to hear that. -

am I being naive? ?
nsquared replied to PhoenixTheDiva's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have always been an extremely private person. So keeping my surgery to myself was kind of a no brainer. I generally do not share personal information with co-workers, ever. When I decided to have the surgery, I told my parents...and they tried to talk me out of it. When I told my parents, surgery was already scheduled and I was two weeks pre-op so they got on board and fully supported me. They have been amazing ever since...but they usually are amazing. I did not tell my sister or friends. Maybe I will one day....who knows. I am not ashamed of my decision but I don't believe it is anyone's business. Frankly, I only told my folks because it was surgery, and I had never had surgery. -
I wish you all the best for travel and surgery. Lots of people on the site have gone to Mexico for the surgery without incident. Seems like the surgeons there know what they are doing and their patients return stateside happy. All the best to you.

Any regrets at all?
nsquared replied to Sooner girl36's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not even kind of! Best thing I have ever done for myself. Saw the doctor this morning and my blood pressure is 110/70. I love my sleeve and what is has taught me so far. -
You look great!

Help Post Op Sleevers!
nsquared replied to blondie311's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am sorry about the blackout. I hope you didn't injure yourself. Unfortunately, I can't offer advise about that but I can comment on the throat feeling. I am 8 weeks post op and that throat feeling just started to go away for me about 2 weeks ago. Two things: chew until your food is the consistency of yogurt so it doesn't get stuck on the way down. That throat feeling is murder and I spent lots of time hurling because of it. Second, take small bites and fully swallow before you take your next bite. That way, you know the food has gone down and you can actually decide if you really need that next bite or if you're full in your new little belly. Those things worked for me. I was not eating too much, but eating too fast and not chewing enough. Hope it helps! -
Anybody regretted it, even with no complications?
nsquared replied to musiclover's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am two months post op and have absolutely no regrets. Frankly, I could not be happier. I had momentary sadness that I could no longer drown my sorrows in whatever quantity of food I chose, but for the most part, I am very happy with my decision. -
AH-MAZZZ-ING! Great job!
-
Friend for sure! I love edamame and it is an easy source of protein.

Anybody regretted it, even with no complications?
nsquared replied to musiclover's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Luckysmomma, I am sorry you've received negative feedback about your journey. Personally, I wish the feedback was more supportive. This WLS journey is uniquely individual and your experience is your own. I don't believe it should be challenged. I am sorry you regret your decision and wish you all the best during your journey. If you want to talk, without judgment feel free to send me a message. -
Awesome! You look fanstastic. I best you are so happy.

I imagine if you feel fine, roller coasters should be okay a month out, but you should ask your surgeon. At 1 month, your sleeve is still healing, but doing much better than a week out.
-
Congratulations! She is beautiful and I am glad everyone is well.

I don't know the cause of your nausea but I am 7 weeks out and I still vomit...perhaps a couple times a week and usually after dinner. I think I might be causing my issue though. Tonight I ate very, very slowly and it stayed down. I hope you feel better soon and that maybe some of the vets have some answers. If not, I would probably call the surgeon tomorrow because you mentioned nothing has changed.
