Did you have second thoughts?
nsquared replied to ladylaura's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No second thoughts here and no sadness after surgery. I was quite ready and two months later, I am still grateful to have the tool. -
Sure, you can have a drink if you want one!

Good for you! I too enjoy working out and I love the high I get from it afterwards.

Things to Do When You Find Yourself on a Plateau (NEW ApproachTo Avoid Obsessing)
nsquared replied to PJinWashington's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I love it! What a great way to view plateaus. -
I like Unjury unflavored in my diet Snapple and some other drinks. I have not tried any others.

Look at that hunky man! Great job! Congratulations.

Hello fellow sleevers!
nsquared replied to michipita83's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Good for you! I am glad everything went so well. Welcome to the sleevers bench. -
Good for you. Everyone is different. Some people can tolerate more than others at similar times post op. I think it is great that you are able to get your protein from such different sources.

So far it has been way too easy... Should I be scared?
nsquared replied to Ana87's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My experience was relatively fine as well. I vomited a fair amount but other than that, no problems and even vomiting didn't scare me. You are very fortunate to be having a decent go of it. -
Congratulations! Fantastic NSV.

Congratulations on your surgery. So glad everything went well. To the others headed to Mexico, safe travels and surgery to you., -
What is the in-hospital experience like?
nsquared replied to BriDawn's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a private room, nurses in to visit at least every hour. Frankly, I was only there for one night and all I wanted to do was sleep. It was a very nice place but I was too sleepy to care. -

nsquared replied to mom2five's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Oh wow. What a transformation. Congratulations. -
Had surgery On a Monday at 11am. Was discharged Tuesday at 2pm. Also had a hiatal hernia repair.

I like isopure. Low carb, high protein....I just don't care for the grape flavor.
-
It depends on your doctor's guidelines but at your stage, I was allowed to eat puréed food...chili, refried and black beans, strained or puréed soups...whatever you can tolerate as long as it has been puréed. Other people may have more suggestions.

Squats, lunges, stairs and cardio. Together they will help your thighs tighten over time.

Do anyone knowwhat surgery is best for me
nsquared replied to rtaylorel's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
5'6" and a half, started at 274lbs with a hiatal hernia. The sleeve was my choice when I had surgery 2 months ago. The hernia was repaired during surgery. I am very pleased with my choice. -
Anyone have their heart on the wrong side? Literally !?
nsquared replied to odetteNYC's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow! I have never heard of that but I suppose it makes sense as a possibility. I am not a medical professional, but as long as your heart is healthy, this anomaly should not keep you from having surgery. The cardiologist just needs to check that out, I imagine. Let us know what happens. I'm praying you have nothing to worry about. -
I use My Fitness Pal.

I have done it long ago when I was thin and in great shape. I trained at the Santa Monica stairs for years. They are a set of about 186 stairs. Great workout made even better by the fact that they go straight up/down (no turns) and are outdoors. My only caution regarding building stairs is disorientation. Depending on how the building is designed, building stairs generally wind. In other words, you have to make a turn at each landing. This winding sensation can cause some people to become disoriented and sick. This is particularly true because building stairwells are generally not well ventilated. Keep that in mind, be wary of 9-11 security concerns, find a building, grab a HUGE bottle of Water and have a ball!

Whaer the 5'7 ish people at?
nsquared replied to Bos123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 5'6" and a 1/2. I was sleeved 02/04/2013. HW: 274 CW: 214 -
I was not permitted anything by mouth (including Water and I was so thirsty!) until the day after surgery, so I guess my answer is no.

I had surgery on a Monday. Immediately post op (still in hospital) the pain was pretty manageable because they kept me hopped up on narcotics. The worst day IMO, was Wednesday. By Thursday x-strength Tylenol was all I needed. I stopped all pain meds by that Friday. The gas was irritating (not debilitating for me) but I was able to manage it by walking lots and using a heating pad.
