Scared... Need a Pep Talk!
futureloser replied to DorothyGale's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Normal to be scared but I was too excited to be scared. Just remember that you have been waiting for this day. It will go quickly although you may not sleep tonight. I spent the day before reading everything I had from my doctor- I have a manual that outlines everything. I went on this website and read everything I could and then.. I just knew it would be ok. I had no pain afterwards, no nausea. Piece of cake! -
Valtrex for Cold Sore
futureloser replied to MizzouGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am prone to cold sores so I have a prescription for Val Trax. I havent needed it so far, but the tablets are big and I wouldn't have been able to swallow them early on. I also have Zovirax and that is a salve - prescription also. That might be a good alternative. -

Panicing About Failure...
futureloser replied to Mindful's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can do this. The sleeve is your tool but your head will determine your success. We all have to come to grips with food addictions but we can overcome them. Stay focussed, follow your doctors instructions and show us what you can do. -

Surgery tomorrow!
futureloser replied to gabaliciousz's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I did have to remove my acrylic nails. They told me when they called to give my surgery time. I wasn't sure and didn't ask if I had to take all or just the pointer where they check your oxygen. I hadn't had them off for ten yrs so it was probably good to give my nails a rest. I didn't put them back on for 3 wks but that was my choice. -

You are prepared, you've done your research, now enjoy the weekend and look at all the before and after pictures on VST! Before you know it, you will be sleeved and you will have a healthier life ahead! Ann -

Diabetics who got sleeved....
futureloser replied to ccaramel27's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Before surgery Mach 11, I as on 12 units insulin and 1000 mg Metformin twice a day with an A1c of about 6. I am on the same amt of Metformin but down to 6 units of insulin with an A1C of 5. I have to track my blood sugar 2x a day for two weeks and if its below 90, I am off my insulin. I am not below 90 every day yet so it might be another couple of weeks before I go off. -
Good for you! You stuck up for yourself!
