  1. Anybody have any suggestions to help ease the soreness from the incisions?
  2. Thank you so much. I will be trying it. I am going to look into ordering sample packets of Unjury.
  3. I was also sleeved in the 25th and having the same issue. I know I'm not getting in my fluids and protein. I get terrible gas pains every time I drink or eat anything. I have been trying to drink the Atkins shakes but I get so bloated. I'm lactose intolerant, I can no longer get yogurt. I'm looking for a lactose free protein powder. It is frustrating but I am positive that it will get better. It has to!
  4. I was sleeved in the 25th. I moved to the blended stage today and it hurts so bad. I'm so hungry being in full liquids but egg beaters hurt going down. I used a small fork, chewed until it was nothing left to chew and i ate slow. I'm a little nervous to try it again. I guess I'm going back to full liquids until after my follow up on Friday. How are the rest of you doing? Anybody experiencing gas pains after swallowing?

    low fat cream soup?

I added a little lactaid to my soup and put it in the blender. I thought it would help increase protein lol.

    low fat cream soup?

On the dietary guidelines from my surgeon said it has to be low fat. Trust me I prefer regular cream based soup lol.
  8. I sent my mom to the store to buy my vitamins. She came back with Centrum flavor burst adult chews. They look like skittled and taste great. I didn't realize it had 4g of sugar until after i took them. She also bought bariatric support calcium wafers by twin lab. They also have 4g of sugar. Has anybody tired either product?
  9. Sip, sip, sip. I'm so hungry and thirsty. I'm 6 days post op on full liquids but the only thing that goes down without pain is sugar free popsicles. I'm trying to sip protein shakes. I'm just so afraid of becoming dehydrated. I'm still swollen and very sore. Gas is still painful but bearable. At this rate I'm going to be on liquids forever. I know it will pass just wish it would hurry up. I don't even want food i just want water lol.
  10. I was sleeved o n Feb. 25th. I got to go home last night. I don't feel as if I was ready to go home. I'm still in a lot of pain. I have been walking and taking gas X but the gas pain will not away. I'm unable to release gas. I can't even sip water without feeling pain and discomfort. I'm afraid of not getting my fluids. Is this normal?

    Im sleeved!

I'm the same boat. I was sleeved Monday afternoon. The pain is crazy. I can barely sit up better yet walk around. The gas.pains just started today. I have gas x strips but I am not allowed to take them I'm still in the hospital a little nervous about being released while I'm in this much pain. I plan to walk a lot today maybe that will help tremendously. These first few days will be rough but we can make it through. Stay strong!
  12. I was sleeved on Monday. I'm still in the hospital. I'm in so much pain I can't even imagine going home without an iv. Luckily no vomiting I'm able to sip water and juice. My belly is so tender. I'm not able to pass gas. They won't let me take gas x strips. It hurts to move. But I'm going to try to walk as much as I can tomorrow.

    February Sleevers

I was sleeved yesterday. Got to hospital at 11:30 AM didn't have surgery until 3pm. I was in pain when I woke up mostly from gas. The gas is a little better. My throat hurts and is super dry. Can't drunk anything until 24 hours after surgery. My belly is extremely sensitive and hurts the worst. l have to lay flat on my back. I can't move much at all. Just about every hour a nurse comes in to check on my vitals. Overall everything is good. My only complaint is the person I'm sharing a room with lol.

    February Sleevers

I was told no make up, nail polish, jewelry or perfume. I don't see how nail polish is going to harm anything. I can't put lotion on my feet so I really hope they are covered up during surgery toe nail polish can't hurt anything lol.

    February Sleevers

My surgery is tomorrow. I have to be at the surgery center at 11:30am. I'm feeling every type of emotion right now. Mostly fear. I was told not to bring much so I'm just bringing a bath rode, slippers, gas x strips, a small pillow (just in case they don't give me one, tooth brush and chap stick. I'm going to wear what I'm wearing to the hospital back home. I am so worried that I'm forgetting something. Does the no nail polish include toe nail polish?

    FMLA Question

I had to submit FMLA paperwork also. Like mentioned previously it is for your protection. It secures your job while you are gone and also covers you if you have to miss work due to medical reasons related to the surgery. I choose not to share that I an having surgery. I was also concerned about my boss finding out what type of surgery I was having. I called HR and was told that my boss/ supervisor doesn't see the forms. Everything goes through the HR dept. On the forms there is a part that says to be completed by employer. Ny HR dept told me i could complete that part. It only ask info about job title and job description. I gave the forms to my doctor to complete. My doctor faxed them directly to HR. I was told that after it's been approved that my supervisor will get a letter saying I was approved for FMLA and the dates I will be out. No exlpanation or reasons why. Legally your supervisor can't ask you questions about it and HR can't release any additional information to your supervisor.

    African American Sleevers

My surgery date is Feb. 25th. I start the pre-op liquid on Feb. 11. I've gone over everything that was given to me by my doctor but now I'm starting to freak out. I am really afraid that I'm not prepared for this. For those that are post op what type of things did you wish you knew pre op? Any tips and advice on how to prepare and what to except would be greatly appreciated.
  21. I am fairly new to VST. I am scheduled to have the sleeve late next month. I've been doing my fair share of research and reading the materials that were given to me by the nutritionist t. I am in the process of preparing myself for my new life style. I've joined a gym and have been working out 3 days a week hopefully I'll be up to 5 days pretty soon. I haven't been on an extremely strict diet but I have been watching what I eat. I feel that I have all the information I need to for the pre-op diet, the liquid phase post-op, blended stage and soft food stage. However, I am little concerned about the on-going nutrition phase. I really want to make sure I have all the knowledge and tools needed to be successful post-op. For those that are post-op do you have any tips or advice for somebody who is going through the process? Any tips for getting in all of your Water and Protein pot-op? Did you find any books, guides and/or weight loss surgery cookbooks useful? **side note about the cookbook, I am not a cook so I am looking for a cookbook with simple recipes ***
