Well I had my sleep study last night and thought I was gonna have the all clear this morning. The first hour I stopped breathing 96 times! :faint:Now I have to get the machine and stay on it 2 weeks before my surgery which is scheduled on the 27th!! How in the world am I gonna get all of this done before then???? I will have to tell you all, I feel GREAT!!! After getting over that stupid thing over my nose and staying on my back, I woke up feeling refreshed, no aches, no headache wow!! So keep me in your prayers that I get this thru so I can keep the date. :help:I have been reading a lot of people getting things stuck!!! Is this gonna be a thing we have to deal with? I understand some are not following orders. Is this how you avoid this?

Hey Sweety. Wow how simular we are in both BMI and goals! We will have to "ban" together and get thru this journey! Where are you from. I am in Alabama. -
Hey they are planning to do my band as an outpatient. Have any of you got to go home a few hours after the procedure?
-
Glad you are feeling better! Each day will be a little brighter

YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!! there are so many wonderful people on this board that know what you are going through. You are very young and have so much to look ahead to!! One of the problems that we all have is depending on others to make us feel good. I have depended on everyone all of my life to make me happy. We have to be happy with ourselves. Please be patient. You will know when the Right one comes along, and he will. People can be in a room filled with people and still be lonely! Stop binging, you are not hurting him you are hurting yourself!! Focus on your lap band journey and making your self happy. I am so sorry you are sad and feel lonely. When you feel lonely come to the board and talk to us... We will always be here for you!

HELP Met with surgeon today - Confused!
Bamalama posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
:faint:OK. I met with the surgeon today. I was so sick on my stomach I almost up chucked this morning before my appointment! Then I got excited I was finally there talking and scheduling my surgery for the 27th of June. I am self paying do it is going faster. Anyway they gave me a brochure on lap band and it shows statistics of most people losing not losing more than 25% of their Excess weight. A few lost 33% of their excess and like 2 % lost more than that. Is this right???? So if I am 100lbs over weight chances are I will only lose 25lbs???:help: I borrowed money to get this done and will be paying for the next 5 years!!! and I am only going to lose 25lbs. Please tell me this is not true. How many of you are 100lbs over weight and lost a lot more???? Please herry, before I put more and more time into all the tests next week! -

Thanks eveyone!!! It feels great to have support from all of you! -
A am so depressed I could just scream. I am scheduled to be banded on June 27th. Happes to be by 29 year old sons birthday. Boy is he laying on the guilt trip! my daughter in law "don't even want to discuss it". I think the main problem is I am doing something for ME for a change instead of everyone else! How dare I??? I think because I have cancer and it is not curable they think why bother. And I am self pay to make it even worse, so you know they are really upset over me borrowing the money:eek: I take 12 pills a day and 2 shots a day for diabeties, blood pressure etc. I want this for me. I want to get off some of these meds and be able to fight when the bone marrow transplant comes up. I feel guilty for borrowing the money, guilty for thinking of me, guilty for missing my sons birthday...... So what do I do????? Tell them to get a life or what????????????:faint:Please tell me there are some of you that have gotten off your meds. How many of you have literally had to fight your own family?

Anyone Banded that has a gag reflex???
Bamalama posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
:help: I went today and signed a note for 14000.00 to pay for my band. I am having it done in Birmingham at Medical Center East by Dr Schmitt. Consult is on the 30th. I guess since I am having to pay all of this out, I am worrying. My question this hour is does anyone gag like I do. When I brush my teeth I gag. When I go to the dentist I gag.... I gag and Gag and gag. I started worrying that it won't work because I gag so much. This morning I worried that my cancer will flare back up and I will die before it works. Yesterday I worried that I might be allergic to the band and then I am out all of this money???? :faint: It really is horrible that we are so desperate and have to go through these things. This board ALWAYS makes me feel better, so Help!!! Thanks everyone -
Hey everyone. I was so excited to find this site. What a great information site. I went to my seninar on saturday at Medical Center East in Birmingham and went and borrowed the money today to have the lap band. Tell me what to expect, what to look forward to and I would love to have some Lap friends on this site. My appointment with Dr, Shmitt is on next Tuesday. I am so excited and scared and emotional. I felt so sad after the seminar. Ifelt like there were 100 people in the ocean and that doctor had one rope and we were all desperately trying to grab onto it!!! Thanks to all of you for sharing your info on this site, it really helps! Bamalama

I have Follicular non hodgkins lymphoma. The surgeon and my oncologists say that it is ok for me to be lapped since I am in remission right now. However I am still in maintenance chemo every three months for the next year and a half. I get sick for a few days after chemo. Do many of you experience a lot of throwing up??:help: Since my cancer is not curable a lot of people ask me why I bother! Of course they don't take 12 pills and 2 shots a day for their health either!

Any cancer survivors with Lap Band?
Bamalama replied to Bamalama's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thanks! I need to feel good about myself and during chemo I actually gained about 20 pounds. Wouldn't you know it, most people think you loose weight with chemo, but not me -
Good Luck to you both!
