Liquids hurt, will it get better?
Lorie269 replied to melmel11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My first weeks, I had a heck of a time getting my fluids in. Water was the worst! Cold, room temperature...it didn't matter. It was just not going down. I drank a lot of broth at first. Now that I am 6 weeks out, it is definitely better. Water is still uncomfortable but I can get it down now. It will get better with time. Good luck! -
Havent felt hunger at all
Lorie269 replied to nyorker's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is great, isn't it? I am about 6 weeks out and still rarely feel hungry. Even when I do, it is NOTHING like pre sleeve. It's almost like an empty feeling. This journey has already been so hard and I can't imagine what it would be like if I had to deal with constant hunger pains. Hope it stays that way for both of us. -
Lower joint weakness/pain since surgery?
Lorie269 replied to goirish78's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OMG, I thought I was going crazy! I am almost 6 weeks out and for the last week or so my left hip has been hurting when I walk and I couldn't for the life of me figure out why. The idea of my posture changing didn't even occur to me. Thanks Laura-Ven! -
I was sleeved on July 26th and I have lost 27lbs. I didn't lose in week 3 and half of 4. I have started losing again but it's a pound here and a pound there. I just started increasing my exercise and I am trying to increase my fluids. I agree with ladylaura, it has to drop at some point.

does anyone get full to fast?
Lorie269 replied to dee2rod's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mostly, I can get about 4 or 5 bites in before I am full. I have noticed that some days I can get more in but not much. I also think I eat too fast. That is one habit that is really hard to break. And when I chew my food really well, it kind of makes me nauseous. -
I am 5 weeks out today and I rarely get hungry. When I do, it is NOTHING like pre-sleeve. Most days, I have to force myself to eat. Food just does not have that appeal to me anymore. I focus on getting my protein and fluids each day though.

I had that burning sensation until right before I started my 3rd week PO. I woke up one morning and the pain was gone. It was such a relief! That is when I was able to sleep back in my bed. It does get better. Give it some time. I am 5 weeks out today and I physically don't feel like I even had surgery.

Burning feeling frim the sleeve....
Lorie269 replied to mejazzyt's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had those painful burning pains too. They started about 2 weeks out and lasted about a week and a half for me. I was so afraid that I did something to my sleeve because these pains hurt worse than the initial incision pains. My doc said it was internal healing. It does go away. Just take it slowly. -
Calling all sleevers with desk jobs....
Lorie269 replied to hopeliveshere's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a desk job and I took 3 weeks off. Realistically, I could have gone back after 2 but I'm glad I had the time. Luckily, my leave was paid at 100% so I just enjoyed that 3rd week off. Best of luck to you! -
Good luck today. Hope you have a speedy recovery!

July sleevers please check in..
Lorie269 replied to shannyd4's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi everyone! I had my surgery on 7/26. I lost 19 lbs since then and a total of 40 since I started the process. I, too, have my days when I feel I am losing too slowly and then I realize that we are all different and if I work my sleeve, I will lose the weight. Just have to have patient. -
Trying hard to not get discuraged
Lorie269 replied to laurasjourney's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I totally feel your pain. I am 2 weeks out today and lost 14 lbs the first week and nothing since. I get my protein in and at least 48 oz of fluids. It's starting to get frustrating. I am going to try to increase my fluids to see if it helps. Good luck to you. -
Awesome job!

I was in so much pain a few months ago...
Lorie269 replied to mparkersmith's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am so glad that you posted this. I am 1 week out and even though each day gets easier, I'm still in the "Why did I do this" stage. I am hopeful that at 2 months out this first week is just a memory. Way to go with your success! -
I am a week out and I have the same feeling. For some reason, it's not to bad in the morning but gets worse throughout the day. I just take my time and sip, sip, sip. It does seem to get a little easier each day.

I had a lot of nausea and pain and the meds weren't helping. Today was so much better and I am sure tomorrow will be better than today. There was a woman across from me who had the sleeve the same day as me and didn't experience any problems. Everybody reacts differently to surgery. Good luck with yours.

Day 2 post-op and today is much, much better. Yesterday was pure hell. Hopefully, everyday gets a little easier. They are keeping me an additional night due to not getting enough fluids in the last 2 days.

Today is my day! Heading into the hospital this morning for an early afternoon surgery. Wish me luck!!!

Good luck to you today, sleeve buddy!

I just got my call for tomorrow. Surgery at 1:30pm. Excited and nervous at the same time.
