    I've lost a 10 year old!

I get those feelings everytime I go for a follow-up visit with my surgeon. Even though she has never given me an amount to lose for each visit or even a goal weight for that matter. As happy as I am with my loss since surgery (almost 50lbs in 3 months), I still get nervous that I will be letting her down somehow. I have my 3mth visit next week. Congrats on your 70lb loss!

    My 600 lb life

I watched Melissa's story last night. It doesn't matter how overweight you are, a lot of us struggle with the same demons. It was inspiring to see that she lost and kept off over 400 lbs after 7 years.

    July sleevers please check in..

11 weeks out today. I have lost a total of 66 lbs, 45 since surgery. I know that I am not exercising enough and I think that the weight would come off quicker if I did more. I still cannot eat more than 2 oz. of dense protein at a time and it still amazes me that I am satisfied with that.Overall, I am very happy so far with my loss. I also am very close to Onederland and I am hoping to get there in the next week or so! Yay!

    Any Pa sleevers?

I had my surgery July 26th. It went great. No complications any my surgeon said everything went perfectly. My surgery was scheduled for 1:30pm but I went under more like 4pm. I didn't get into my room until 8pm or so and I pretty much was out of it until the next day. I had a really had time shaking off the anesthesia and couldn't get my fluids in so they kept me 3 nights instead of 2. But, the second day was so much better. Once I got home, I recovered fast. No issues so far and I am 11 weeks out today. Good Luck with your surgery and please feel free to ask me any questions that come up. Sometimes I get better answers on here than from my surgeon.
  12. I was scheduled for a 2 night stay but they kept me for a 3rd due to not being able to get my fluids in. I was not feeling my best so I was actually happy to stay. My surgery was Friday late afternoon and I went home Monday afternoon. By that time, I was ready to go.

    stuck at 202

I am at 203 and while I haven't been stuck here (hope I didn't just jinx myself ) I can understand the frustration. Onderland is so close and yet can seem so far away. I have faith that we will both get there real soon!
  14. I've lost 45lbs since my surgery on July 26th. I feel like I am losing at a steady pace and haven't had what I would consider a true stall yet. Some weeks I lose 2-4lbs and others I may not lose anything. But the scale has not shown any gain so far so I will take it. I know I will get to goal and I am trying my best not to obsess about how fast I will get there.

    Back to the hospital

Melissa, I'm so sorry you are having problems. It's been about 3 months since my surgery so I remember well how bad I felt for the first week or two after I got home. I even had to stay at Magee for an extra night and day becausee I couldn't get fluids in. You made the right call by going back to the hospital. Once you get fluids in, you will feel so much better. I really hope everything starts to get better for you quick. Please let me know if there is anything I can do.
  16. YAY!! Congrats. I just recently went under a 35 BMI and I was super excited. Only 6 more points until we are "only" overweight!

    SOS

I am almost 3 months out and I still have days like that. They are getting fewer and fewer as the weeks go by. It will get better and like everyone has said, you are not alone in feeling this way.

    Finally Sleeved!

Happy to hear that you are recovering well. My first day was total hell. I was so jealous of everyone who was able to get out of bed and walk their first day. I just could not do it. I ended up statying an extra night and day to help my recovery.
  19. I was not required to lose during my 6 months but I was encouraged to lose weight or at the very least, maintain my initial weight. They did not want to see a gain. I ended up losing 21lbs during my 6 months. Is losing the 9lbs required by your surgeon or the insurance company? If you have a 2 week pre-op diet you most likely will lose those 9lbs and even more. If it is required for the insurance submittal, I would do my best to lost them. It is definitely possible to lose that much in a month if you really put in the effort. Good luck to you!

    Onederland

Congrats!!!! I cannot wait until I see that 1 on the scale. I'm sure it was an amazing feeling. Way to go!
  22. I am 2.5 months out and I haven't stalled yet. Like NMJG, I am losing slow and steady but I always have a loss at the end of the week. It might be 4lbs , it might be 1 but I haven't stopped losing. There is no point obsessing, especially if it hasn't even happened.

    Just wanted to share =)

    Way to go! Congrats!

    Pain

It does get better, I promise! I had to stay in the hospital for 3 nights as I was in a lot of pain and had nausea for the first 2 days. Once I got home, I struggled for maybe the first week and then felt a whole lot better. By the time, I went back to work, 3 weeks later, I felt liek my old self again. Just give yourself some time, sip slowly all day long and get up and walk throughout the day.
