Awesome! I wish I had an extra room or a garage to make a fitness room. What I have is crammed into my bedroom. I told my 20 yr old daughter that when she moves out, her room will be my fitness center.

It's interesting how differently I'm treated these days
Lorie269 replied to pinkpeonies's topic in The Lounge
I work in the male-dominated steel industry, though I am in an office position. Daily, we have contractors and vendors in and out of the office. Recently, people that I have seen for a while, some even years, have been coming in and introducing themselves to me. Like they think I am a new around here. I guess I was invisible when I had 76 more pounds on me. -

5 Confessions (Join In)
Lorie269 replied to ebthompson2010's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My first confessions. Here goes... 1. I confess that I am afraid to take pics of myself yet because I am afraid that I won’t see in a pic what I see in the mirror. I really like what I see in my mirror for once. 2. I confess that as much as I want people to comment on my weight loss, the attention is sometimes extremely overwhelming and I want to hide from everyone. 3. I confess that even though first and foremost I had this surgery to have a healthy future, one of the biggest incentives for me to lose weight was to fit into roller coasters again. My poor husband has had to ride alone for the last 6 years. 4. I confess that even though I am more than halfway to goal in 3 months I am terrified that any day now I will stop losing. 5. I confess that after I tried on my wedding dress from 14 yrs ago AND IT FIT!!!, I stayed in it all night while I vegged out on my couch and watched TV. -
How much are you eating?
Lorie269 replied to BigD35's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 3 months out and just like marfar above, I do not measure or weigh anything at this point. I am still barely able to get 1.5-2 oz of protein in. I can sometimes eat 1 whole meatball or 4 or 5 bites of chicken. That is about all and most times I don't have room for any veggies. Sometimes it bothers me that I can't eat more but most of the time I am just amazed that I can feel completely satisfied after that small amount. I plan to take advantage of my restriction for as long as I can! -
My Ticker made me smile!
Lorie269 replied to WildChickie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is so awesome when your ticker tells you you have less weight to loss than you already lost! Congrats on your loss so far and almost getting to the halfway mark. You will get there before you know it! -
Tempting the beast
Lorie269 replied to hopeliveshere's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hear you on this. I am 3 months out and normally have no problem with resisting the snacks. Today at work, not only are we celebrating Halloween with candy, there is a retirement party going on with cake and treats. I am hanging out in my office trying to avoid the temptations. Some days it is harder than others but I am stronger than my cravings...and so are you! -

WOW! Almost 100lbs in 3 months! Awesome job! -
I am 3 months out and I still can't eat very much. I can get about 1.5 -2 oz of dense Protein in at a time. Sometimes, just a couple of bites. I hope that it increases in the future but right now I am very happy with the little bit I can eat. I want to take advantage of this time for as long as I can. If soup goes down well for you, just order that for lunch.

10 days out and I can't even get in 500 calories a day?
Lorie269 replied to Saki's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 3 months out and some days I still barely get in 600 calories. I make sure that I always get my protein and fluids in each day. I am taking advantage of this time now because I know the further out I get, the more calories I will consume. You are still very early out. It will get easier. -
Awesome! Congrats!
