Hi everyone, I'm freaking out I have surgery in 4 days and I can feel a sore throat coming on. Can I take antibiotics or cough medicine so close to surgery? I think I read somewhere not to take certain medications before surgery & I'm worried I'll be sick on surgery day and my surgeon won't operate What shall I do?

Hi novo, I just went thru getting my super released thru APRA. So you can download the early release of super form , from the APRA web site. There's a few sections for you to fill out & you will need to take that form to your GP & he/she will fill out their section. The form also needs to go to your surgeons office to be filled in as well. My surgeons office didn't fill in the form they had a letter for me to attach to the form. You will also need photo copies of your I'd signed by a JP or a Police officer. you need to send two copies of the form into to APRA, they take about 10 days to asses your application. Once they have approved the release of super they will send you a approval letter , then send that letter to your super company and they will deposit your funds to you. There is one thing you need to know, you will need to have an extra 21% in your super account than what you want to take out, because they tax you 21% to take the funds out.it's a rip off but what can you do!! Another thing make sure your forms are perfect before sending them in, cause if there's anything wrong with your form , they will put you back to the bottom of the pile. If you are unsure of anything ring them and ask better to get the form right the first time.I think I called them 3 times... Lol If you have any questions I'm happy to help , just send me a message. -

Hi sue, I lost the thread we were on.. Here's the link for skinny jeans http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0076QJT9Y/ref=redir_mdp_mobile?keywords=Skinny%20Jeans%20at%20Last&qid=1361992668&ref_=sr_1_2&sr=8-2 This site is making me dizzy! Is there a Aussie facebbok page we can catch up on? -
I'd agree with you there sue, I had a band for 8 years and I hated every second of it. My band had slipped and was causing me great pain , I finally had it taken out in November and have had to wait till march for my sleeve surgery to give my tummy time to heal befor surgery. I know it works for sum , but it didn't for me n I would never recommend it :/ Bring on the sleeve girls!!!

Hi Sue, I'm not sure , my surgeon has me on 3 kick start shakes plus 2 cups of veggies/salad a day. The kick start shakes are equivalent to opti fast only they actually taste really yummy So ur surgery is the 8th, that's great we can help each other a long if you like? We are both getting close now! Are you excited or nervous? How are you going on pre op diet have you lost anything yet? I've been on it for 3 days and I'm down a kilo, strangely I'm not hungry or craving chocolate at all, which is a blessing as I am used to eating a family block a night, how bad is that ... I just couldn't get enough of it. I've heard people say after surgery they don't crave sweets at all so here's hoping Have you read skinny jeans? Someone in another thread posted about it, I downloaded it, it's about vsg surgery it's a good read and has some helpful hints in it. -

Any March Sleevers?
simonetwentynine replied to futuresleever's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know how u feel , I'm not worried about the surgery but have been very anxcious about failing and not losing or over stuffing my new tummy!! . I had a lapband for 8 years & while it prevented me from gaining weight , I only lost about 10kgs over the 8 years. I won't bore u with the details, let's just say the band n I didn't get along. So this is my second wls n I know those who knew about my band and my upcoming surgery are probably expecting me to fail again. I had an appointment with my surgeon yesterday and he has reassured me that I will lose weight , he said how much i lose I will depend on how well i stick to the eating guidelines , so this will work for all of us, we just need to stay focused and keep positive thoughts in our minds I don't really care what others think about my surgery, I know I might be a topic of conversation for the office gossips, but I know they will move on to a new topic soon enough n I will be yesterday's news to them, but my new skinny body will be mine forever... Lol Try to stay positive n focus on all the good things coming your way, when you start losing weight n feeling fit n healthy -

Wow that's awesome Tyson ! .How long are you on the post op diet for & when's your surgery? I'm booked in for 6/3/13, so I don't start my post op shakes till 22/2/13. I've brought kicstart Protein shakes ,I've tried a couple already n there actually quite yummy. I noticed you entered your weight in kgs not pounds, so I'm guessing your not in the states? I only ask as I'm in Australia and we use the kgs not the pounds as a measurement ... Lol
