  1. I'm still on full liquids for a couple more days, and I'm really ready to move to the next stage. I really haven't lost much weight since surgery, but I'm hoping that changes soon.
  2. How are all you other March 18thers doing today?

    March Sleevers Where are You

I am a week out from my sleeve and have no trouble with protein drinks either. I can easily drink a 14 oz shake in 15 minutes. That worries me a little that it's so easy to drink

    ideas for full liquid stage?

I can't wait until I can have some refried beans with a little salsa and melted cheese. That sounds so very good right now. I think my doc wants me to wait another week before I try those, though...

    ideas for full liquid stage?

Thanks for the ideas. I might try some cream of wheat or thinned mashed potatoes.
  6. I met a couple times with Dr. Kirk, but my insurance ended up denying me. So, last week I traveled south and had my surgery with Dr Garcia in Mexico. So far so good

    Snoring!

I enjoy that I don't snore anymore and that I get a great night's sleep. I was just sleeved on Monday, and I'm in no big hurry to lose my cpap.

    Dr. Fernando Garcia

I had a lot of nausea yesterday and vomited up blood several times. The doctor said this was normal. As far as pain, there has been some, but it's not bad at all. My gas pains have been minimal. I can't complain. I'm walking every hour. It definitely helps with my nausea.

    Dr. Fernando Garcia

Dr. Garcia performed my surgery yesterday. Everything went great.
  10. I'm so frustrated and upset right now. I made it to Tijuana safely a few hours ago. The plane ride and everything else went great. Throughout the day, however, my foot has been getting more and more sore. I know the signs well-I'm having a gout flare up. My surgery is scheduled for tomorrow morning with Dr. Garcia. Now I don't know what's going to happen. More than likely, I'll be in a lot of pain and will have difficulty waking. I wonder if he will cancel my surgery? I hope not. Hopefully he can give me something to treat the gout. Here in the U.S. I would probably get prednisone. Not sure if there is anything he can do for me here. I feel so defeated right now. (Sorry. I just needed to vent.)
  11. Hey all. I'm having my surgery on Monday. I'll be on a liquid diet for awhile after. Do any of you have suggestions for improving the flavor of broth post op? Is there anything I can safely add to make it more palatable?

    Is this real?!?

Good luck. I hope everything goes well for you. I'll be flying in on Sunday afternoon for my surgery on Monday.

    29 Oklahoma Newbie

You really have been all over the state I lived in Stillwater for five years and Bartlesville for two years, but I ended up back here around Mcalester where I grew up. It's nice to meet you, and good luck to you on your surgery!

Prayers headed your way. I'll be there in a little less than two weeks (with my mom as my companion), and I would love to hear how everything goes for you and your mom.
