    January Newbies ! Progress ?

I was sleeved 1/30. Starting weight 250, down to 243. 7 pounds! I am having a hard time forcing down 300 to 400 calories a day. I just have no appetite. I can only force down about 4 ounces over an hour and then I'm just done. Struggling to get my water too. =/
  2. I am only 2 days post-op. Went in at 250, now I weigh 256! I haven't had anything solid in me for over a week, and now I'm only drinking about 2 oz every couple of hours (its all I can choke down). I have heard all these stories about people who lost a great deal of weight in their first couple of weeks. I understand that the 6 extra pounds has to be water weight...how do I get it to start coming off? Btw, I'm walking 30 or more minutes a day. I can't walk 30 all at once, so I break it down into 10 minute walks.

    January Newbies ! Progress ?

Surgery was 1/30. So far I have GAINED 6 pounds! I'm so depressed and stressed about it. It has to be water weight, but still...
  4. I am taking very small sips of water and protein drinks. Every time I drink, I can actually feel it go down. Feels like I swallowed an "air bubble" every time. Thought or experience on this? Btw, I'm only one day post op.
  5. So my sleeve was done yesterday AM, I wasn't allowed to eat or drink anything for almost 36 hours. Anyway, obviously I'm having trouble even choking down Water. I'm not nauseated (yet). I am very hungry, but I just can't eat more than a sip of my Protein drinks. Any tips? I don't want to run out of energy the way I used to on diets... Also, I weighed 6 pounds more this morning! I was not happy about that at all. I realize it must be water weight as I haven't eaten in days. Anyone else experience this?
  6. They discharged me this afternoon on a bariatric "step 2" diet. Which means full liquid. I'm not really sure I'm comfortable drinking heavy things just yet. I think going to stay on the clear liquid for a couple more days. Been trying to choke down my Atkins shake and water. Hasn't worked so well.
  7. I'm having surgery 1/30. I know its been covered before, but I'm trying to get a general idea of how much I should be losing and how quickly. I've ready anywhere from 25 lb the first month, to some people onky losing 1 lb a week. I would be crushed if all I lose is 1 lb a week! I've read that the sleeve really doesn't restrict your intake that much, and that a lot of sleevers eat 1000 or more calories a day. I don't see myself losing much weight on 1k per day. I've been dieting at 1200 calories per day and the scale barely moves. So frustrating! I'm hoping I can get some figures from you guys so I can see how much others have lost. I don't know if it helps, but I'm 5'7 and 252 pounds.

    weekly weight loss?

That's true, I'm just afraid I'm going to get discouraged if I don't see results fast enough. I mean, after everything I've been through and will have put my body through...idk, just feel like if it doesn't work I will feel pretty hopeless. Which is where I am already and why I chose surgery. After years of unsucessful dieting.
  9. Thanks, Lander. It is really different if you have chronic pain. I am afraid that they won't effectively treat my pain. I'm a nurse, and sadly I know how (most) nurses feel about pain meds. Especially how they feel about chronic pain patients. We are all "addicts" or "hypochondriacs". Hopefully I will have a PCA so I won't have to rely on asking the nurses for meds. I have been in the hospital before for something minor, and getting my meds was like pulling teeth. They kept trying to give me tylenol for 6-7/10 pain. I was BEGGING them for something stronger, and mostly I was ignored...you better believe the state nurses board got a call from me (and the hospital administrator)! I'm just afraid I'm not going to be in any condition to advocate for myself.
