My conditions included: depression, pre diabetes, spinal stenosis and chronic migraines. BMI was around 37 when approved but I was initially denied. It took a peer review to get approved. Good Luck!!!
-
I also only drink water and an occasional glass of hot green tea with lemon.

For the first time ever, I dont feel like I am on a diet!
Miss Piggy posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm 5 weeks post op and back on regular foods. This just feels like my new normal... NOT a diet! I eat way, way, way less but I eat so slow, I'm able to savor every bite. I'm completely satisfied. I love this!!! -
Hair loss post op vs. after childbirth? More, less, same?

I keep seeing threads on hair loss and I know it is to be expected. Just curious how it compared to hair loss after having a baby. Thx!! -

Crap... I lost a ton after my 2 kids, lol! -
Just wondering when you incorporated protein bars? I can start regular foods this week but I'm not sure when my stomach will be able to handle a protein bar. Just curious what others have experienced. Thx!!
-
I'm allowed to start regular foods next week and I'm so nervous!! Can anyone recommend some starter foods that they have tolerated well? Foods that didn't sit well? I will be 4 week post op at that time.

Feta cheese - soft diet or regular?
Miss Piggy posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm on my second week of the soft food stage and going to a picnic today. Just curious if feta would be considered soft or regular food? My MIL always makes a Greek salad and I'm wondering if I can have some of the cheese. My examples don't list it specifically so I'm just curious. Thx!!! -

Sleeved 5/28 and I have not deviated from my doctors instructions at all. Honestly I am petrified to...don't want to mess anything up. It helps that I dont have any cravings or hunger. I did cheat pre-op though. -
Scared to move on to next phase?
Miss Piggy posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Anyone else dealt with fear transitioning to the next food phase post op? I have had no problem with the liquid phase and really don't desire anything more at this point. I'm allowed to start soft foods tomorrow but I find myself really nervous about it. With the liquid phase I haven't really felt the restriction yet but I have measured everything to make sure I don't overdo it. Maybe it's fear of the unknown? Maybe fear of failure? I don't know...just curious if anyone can relate? -

Sleeved 9 days ago....still having some pain sitting & standing but I have 2 little ones. Yesterday felt pretty good but this morning I am having really bad "pulling" type pains under my largest incision...figure that's probably normal as things are healing. But I just looked and under the pain about an inch is a bruise (1" big). Just wondering if anyone else experienced external bruising?

I'm only a week post op and have zero appetite. Had a family birthday last night and had no desire to eat anything. Hope it stays that way!!!

What kinds of soup have you found to be ok for the liquid diet? Just broth or anything else?
-
Thanks!!! I should also clarify that I am post op full liquid stage.

I was just sleeved on Tuesday. Tuesday night I felt great but Wednesday was horrible!!! Puking but nothing coming out, pain moving around, etc. the nausea has since stopped but my stomach is still really sore. I'm having a hard time getting up and can't roll over onto my side in bed. Bust wondering when the pain gets better? I'm on straight liquids and even just the thought of food makes me sick. I am getting at least 48 oz of Water although not as much Protein as I should...that's coming from shakes
-
Thanks!!! Yes, they gave me anti nausea meds in the hospital and it was only the 1st day preop. I was worried I was going to burst my stomach.

I was sleeved the 28th too and have zero interest in eating. I'm drinking water and trying to get a protein shake in here and there. Yesterday was BRUTAL. I felt horrible! Today I'm feeling better but still no appetite..just the look of food makes me sick, lol. -
