Sooooo slow ~ What's wrong with me?
Thood replied to Thood's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks so much for all the positive feedback! It's so nice to feel supported and encouraged ~ Thanks again : ) -
Such a slow process for me. Surgery was Jan. 15th so it been almost 4 months and I am only down 35 pounds. Is this the norm? I feel much better but had no idea it would be such a slow process. I have another 35 pounds to go and am wondering if I will ever reach my goal. Seems like most people lose so much faster than this : (

I find that I am hungry much more often than I thought I would be. It doesn't take much to fill me up but I am hungry again soon after I eat. I don't have cravings like I had before the surgery but I AM still hungry : ( Disappointing to say the least! Also losing MUCH slower than I thought I would. Is it just me?

Everyone is different. I struggled with the "Tell/Don't Tell" issue too! In the end I just decided to spill the beans ~I realized it was my decision and I had to do what was best for me. Found everyone to be very supportive because they knew my weight struggles were so difficult for me. I say do what is best for YOU! : )

Preop Diet & Headaches?
Thood replied to DrmBig4Evr's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Post-op you will have prescribed pain meds so you shouldn't have any issues with headaches! Best of luck to you : ) -
And Congrats to YOU!!! ~ I hope I am 75 pounds down at 6 months post op!!!
-
I hope it's not a kidney stone! They can be so painful. I had kidney stones twice (both prior to being sleeved) and worry about that now due to all the protein we have to eat! Best of luck to you ~ I hope you start to feel better soon : )

Thanks Guys! Scale moved just a bit this morning ~ I was getting worried that even surgery wouldn't help!! Best of luck to both of you on your journey. So nice to know I am not alone ~ : )
-
Oops ~ bad math skills!! I have 48 pounds to go : ( Still a long way to go in four months at the rate I am going!!!
-
I am 6 weeks Post Op and have already hit a stall : ( I started at 196 with a goal weight of 125 so that gave me 71 lbs to lose. I am down 23 lbs but the scale hasn't moved in a full week. I was really expecting much faster results ~ hoping to reach my goal weight by July. With 52 pounds still to go and things moving so slowly I am wondering if this will be possible. 52 pounds is a long way to go in 4 months! Any suggestions?

How to get my water in?
Thood replied to happydaisy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I put Splenda in my water ~ no flavoring just plain Splenda, water & crushed ice ~ Yum! -
I was sleeved on Jan. 15th and find solid foods a bit heavy. Kind of feels like it gets stuck. Much easier to eat soft foods at this point. I did eat a few bites of chicken today ~ just made sure I chewed really well.
-
I felt the same way as did so many others! You will start to feel better soon and realize you made the right decision. Hang in there ~ everyday gets better. Hugs to you : )

Just wondering how many carbs and or calories most people are consuming per day. I am hoping to get a better idea of where I should be each day in order to maximize my weight loss. Just started using "My Fitness Pal" again. Hoping this will keep me on track ~ looking forward to your response! : )

I appreciate all the positive feedback! I too, at this point in my journey, find it difficult to get in as much protein/nutrition as I needed. So I haven't really felt like I was doing any "mindless eating" ~ just trying to make smart choices! I continue to make a conscience effort to be aware of each and every bite ~ and enjoying the fact that finally my goal is within reach for the first time in a very long while : )
