  1. I just got back from Disneyland and 2 cruises last week and lost 5 lbs. As long as you're going to be resting (a lot), you should be fine because there are always fresh yogurts to be found, nice pureed Soups at all of the meals and the wait staff will accommodate just about any request. I stocked my cabin's fridge with Protein drinks to supplement as well. Walking laps on a cruise ship can be quite nice!

    Info please

Don't sweat the psych eval - they have a vested interest in you "passing". Just be yourself, be honest and remember, they aren't expecting a person who is in complete control of everything in their lives (including food) to walk-in. The more honest and upfront you are about your struggles, the more it will reflect insight and self-awareness which are all crucial to a successful WLS journey.
  3. You're still healing. Your body could go through all kind of swings. Weigh yourself once a week and just stick to the plan. Then, come back to this post a year from now and laugh your skinny ass off!

    discouraged today

It gets better, I promise!!!! No, actually, it gets FANTASTIC! With each day, you are getting healthier and healthier and one day closer to no food restrictions. Once you have a variety of foods to choose from, you'll forget all about the dreaded post-op liquid phase. Hang in there - you're worth it!

    Potassium

I also take potassium every evening, just to be safe - nothing worse than getting a muscle cramp!
  6. Is anyone going? I'm seriously considering it! http://www.wlsfa.org/event/
  7. I found that I could pretty much puree anything made by Progresso and was always very content.

    Post op gain

You will find that you might have many ups and downs throughout this journey. The fact that you are up 10 lbs does not surprise me. Your body has been through a pretty traumatic few weeks. Allow it time to heal (and sometimes healing involves swelling and fluid retention). Celebrate the fact that you've just taken a major step to better health, you are sticking to your nutritional guide and you are totally hitting your protein goals - those things alone are something to be very very proud of. The weight will come off - focus on the journey, not the number...

    full liquid misinterpretation

Don't beat yourself up. You misunderstood and now you're taking corrective action. This journey is all about moving forward. What's done is done, you will be fine, it's a lesson we all learn along the way.

  12. I've found stuff on their in-flight menu that I could always eat (cheese, fruit, etc) and I have also found they will give me the whole bottle of Water if I ask (and then some!) You're going to feel so comfortable that you will want to take many many more trips!!
