I had strange pulling sensations and sensitivities to laying on my side. I think that's normal. You can always mention it to your surgeon or his nurse during your next follow-up just to be sure!

When do you start counting calories and protein?
VSGKirk replied to kjordan83's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use myfitnesspal as a food diary. I eat what I want and then record it. I like seeing where I fall with my natural eating habits. It's nice too because I'm learning so much about nutrition. The first few weeks were hard, but making new habits always are. Just do your best and don't stress. Stress causes stalls -
Ignore the number, focus on how you feel. You are most likely losing inches, btw.

Jami, the turkey chili I demo on my YouTube channel always kept things "moving" for me. I recall also taking a fiber supplement daily back when I was't eat much volume. No one ever got fat from eating pickles, so eat them if you like them!

I pureed just about every variety of Progresso soup known to man!

I've used them and think they're good. When comparing the cost though, the Premier Protein RTD shakes at Costco just seemed like more protein for the $. Go with what you like and will enjoy :-)

Nique, you'll get through this, all in good time and you'll find that you can eat the things at these places in moderation and feel really good about yourself!

What do you tell people when they ask
VSGKirk replied to sureaboutme2's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you choose to say anything, I'd recommend telling the whole truth. Only telling part of the story could be misleading or construed as wls is something to be ashamed about. If you choose not to disclose any of your personal health business, that's a viable option as well! -
You go, girl!

Out-Of-Control Eating While Deciding on WLS
VSGKirk replied to Andrew0929's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think my eating was pretty much all over the place when looking into WLS. When I finally made the decision to move forward, I had the opposite experience. I started eating much better and in smaller quantities to prepare myself. I didn't want there to be such a shock to my system pre-op and post-op. I called it "practicing" - I wanted to start to really pay attention to whether or not I was actually hungry or full or whatever. I know several others who did something similar and they are having fantastic losses post-op and feel great! -
What's the Hardest Part?
VSGKirk replied to Canary Diamond's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
The hardest part for me has been keeping up mentally with the physical transformation - and quite honestly, I can live with that -

VSGKirk replied to anninva's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey y'all - I'm doing well also. Had my 6 month post-op surgical visit the other day (a few weeks early) - all my lab test came back remarkably normal. Say what!? So I guess this fantastic tool, hard work and making a conscientious effort to put nourishing things in my body is working! Thanks to everyone in this forum and on VST for all of the support throughout this amazing journey -
Very excited for you! Please do keep us updated on your progress. Pictures of you drugged up with bedhead and a backless hospital gown get extra points
