    BBQ Sauce?

I agree with Fyre - BBQ sauce, in moderation, shouldn't be an issue.

    Pain Question

Sounds like gas to me - GasX didn't do much for me, but walking, even if just in place, seemed to help a lot! Each day will get easier and easier - I have no gas or gurgling anymore (haven't for weeks and I feel normal again). Congrats, you'll do great!
  3. I returned on Day 7 - full 8-10 hour days, but had to nap as soon as I got home.
  4. Since my initial consult in November 2012, I'm down 47 lbs! I'm 5 weeks out so today looked something like this: Breakfast: strawberry Greek Yogurt (3.4 oz) w/ granola sprinkled on top Snack: Isopure Protein Drink, Alpine Punch (8 oz) Lunch: 1/2 of a Lunchable (4 tiny rounds of ham, 4 crackers, 4 tiny pieces of cheese) Snack: Isopure Protein Drink (again) Dinner: 1 oz. sliced chicken breast & 1 cheese stick Snack: 1/3c Chicken Chili I had to force myself to eat this as I have yet to feel hunger. I am not queasy and I enjoy the taste of food, but I'm just so indifferent. I had 4 16.9 oz bottles of Water and may have a little more Isopure tonight to get more protein in.
  5. Hey Marc! So I've yo-yo'd from as little as 187 and up to 350+ from about 15 yrs old until 44. Like you, I was pretty sedentary and didn't feel like I ate too crazy, but my daily intake food would look something like this: Breakfast: A diet coke Lunch: A salad with chicken, drenched in Ranch with a diet coke Dinner: 1/2-3/4 Little Caesar's Pepperoni pizza - or - a 1.5 pound carne asada burrito - or - Steak nachoes & a bean burrito (Taco Bell). I had to feel "full" in order to relax and sleep. You get the picture, I think. Poor food choices and would just inhale pretty much anything in sight in the evening. I was 350lbs, with no diabetes, no high blood pressure, no heart disease, could lose weight like crazy, but could never keep it off because I would just go nuts at night. Post-op, I drink lots of Water, no caffeine, no sodas, Protein, etc... So surgery has provided me with a fantastic tool which requires portion control - but at the same time gives me a great feeling of fullness. I wish this surgery had been around or available 10-15 years ago!!! Don't know if that answered your question - but that's my experience.

    scale hunting!

I bought a medical office type sliding scale: http://www.amazon.com/HealthOMeter-402LB-Health-Meter-Physician/dp/B000FCF9EA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1360122035&sr=8-2&keywords=medical+scale I got too frustrated with the digital scales always giving me 3 different readings when I would step on them 3 times!
  7. If you're that close, don't you think you could just pick up the phone and say, "Hey, got your invite, before I respond NO, let me tell you why. I'm going to have a procedure that's going to keep me around a long time so that our kids and grandkids can play together." Of course, I'm a dude - so you may need to soften the approach on that one!

Milk Duds got the better of me!

I'm pretty sure the sense is always there...this time it just had to wade through a little caramel

    I'm a sleever too!

Welcome and congrats! Great attitude - will take you far!

Milk Duds got the better of me!

Instead of beating yourself up over this, maybe dig deep and ask yourself what emotional need were those Milk Duds filling? Our sleeves are successful only to the extent that our minds will allow. If you're not already, see a therapist who specializes in eating disorders. It's happend to all of us, otherwise we wouldn't be here, ya know? Be strong :-)
  11. Well into week #5 and doing my thing - didn't monitor my fluid intake and WHAMMO! Dehydrated... my fault, totally avoidable, wasting a PTO day at work as a result. I am slamming fluids today and need to formalize a fluid intake plan until it's a habit. No matter how many times they hammer into your head, FLUIDS FLUIDS FLUIDS, I am a man and had to figure it out the hard way, LOL
  12. The thought of experiencing dehydration again is a good motivator! LOL - I'm trying to re-learn that I must drink out of need, not thirst. So I'm watching the clock today and every 10 minutes or so, I'm taking at least 2oz. I let that go down and 10 minutes later, another swig!
  13. I've managed a 16.9 oz bottle every 90 minutes so far today - will have to take a break soon though because I need to eat some protein. Lesson learned for sure!

Boundaries! Get out my damn plate!

My co-workers are all in my business because a ) They care b ) I invited them in. But then again, we were all in each other's business before surgery and we are all full of advice for each other (and it's a boundriless free-for-all). I love it (even when they are keeping me real!). You're sassy Imlosingit, you go girl!

    Enlarged Testicles

My partner works in a hospital flipping patients. He sees this all the time. It's usually because the patients have been pretty stationary while in bed. If you didn't move around much, it could just be fluid accumation (especially with as much as they pump into you). Hopefully a few days have passed now and you are up and about and there is improvement!
  16. I downed an 8 oz IsoPure on my way to the festivities. Ate 2 chili-garlic chicken wings and a watered down cranberry juice. I was full after that and just sipped water. My table mates had nachos, chips & cheese dip, sliders and chili cheese fries and a TON of beer. It wasn't as hard as I thought (thank goodness!) Thank u sleeve for being the exact tool I need to be a healthier me!!

    Depressed to the fullest!

Okay, frustration aside... how do you feel physically? I bet a lot better than you did when you were heavier. Put the scale aside and just take a second to take all of this in. It's not forever, you will lose and you're going to look back at this post and tell yourself "silly girl, if you only knew how great you're going to look and feel very soon!"

    Can this be possible?!

See, and you were all nervous and stuff! Good job!
  20. Q1: My surgeon checked for leaks while I was still in surgery. My surgical center pioneered VSG as an outpatient procedure. I was supposed to go home the same day, but I had a slight complication (not VSG related) that made them keep me overnight. I was discharged the next morning. Q2: You'll feel full when you start eating purees and soft foods. Q3: Sound like gas pains to me!

    Aaaaaagggghhhh! Not Feb 14th!

It was hard as hell (not going to lie), but it was all up my head - that's the biggest battle. Post op I have had to go to client dinners, shows, concerts, parties and learn to fill my emotional needs with the people and the experience, instead of what I can eat or drink. THAT, and I've dropped almost 16k into this process, so I have an additional incentive to make it work, LOL!
  22. I took Alli up until my day of surgery - it kept me from eating anything too greasy or fatty! #analleakageifyouscrewup
