Bathroom problems
VSGKirk replied to beachblondeee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't feel any more or less bloated after taking them I and I go like clockwork every morning before my shower. -
Normal to eat this much?
VSGKirk replied to nikilynne's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think that it helps that I eat 4-5 times a day, so I don't panic if I don't feel full right away. I know a meal is just a few hours away! -

Nicki, just measure out 1/3 or 1/2 cup and know that's all you're going to eat. You are probably full, but don't know it because your nerves are still healing. If you are drinking your fluids, there will be very little room for other things when it's meal time. Be kind to your new stomach, be kind to YOU! -

SSKay, 4 weeks post-op I was only able to eat 2 chicken wings and I had graduated beyond soft foods, but everyone is different. If you are eating enough to throw-up you might be eating too much or too fast. -
Most people having WLS are going to have blips, bumps and bruises along the way. We are literally killing ourselves pre-op, so don't be discouraged. Go through all of these tests and be compliant with all of their instructions. You are getting so close to a healthier you!

My partner is stealing all my stuff too! He'll eat 2-3 of my yogurts in one session. Oh well, he's a growing boy!

I'm 6 weeks post-op and could possibly only eat 1/2 cup. At 10 days, I would have been lucky to eat 1/3 cup of soup. That's interesting! Are you eating nice and slow? -
Unjury chicken flavored soup
VSGKirk replied to Tryingtobringsexyback's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Yes, it helped me day 3 & 4 post-op, but my goodness, the temperature has to be just right or else in turns into a clumpy mess. Good flavor though! -

I'm 6 weeks post-op and take 2 gummy fiber chews each evening at bedtime. -
String cheese is always a go to for protein, calcium and low-carb.

have any one regret getting sleeve
VSGKirk replied to Yiraini01's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 6 weeks post-op and haven't stopped smiling since I woke up in the the PACU! Best thing I've ever done. If you're struggling with head hunger and your deep emotional connection to food, there's no shame in getting help. The truth is, you would have needed that with our without surgery. Stay strong, you will be so thrilled with the results, I'm sure of it! -
I HAVE to have blood removed once every 3 weeks (due to an iron overload condition) and feel fine afterwards. I would imagine if your pulse, temp, BP, blood sugars are all fine - it shouldn't be a problem at all. That's a new one!

Congrats Girl!!!!! Thank god there are no farm animals... -
Hi RWHIT43, I decided to pursue WLS because I felt like crud all-the-time. It effected me physically and emotionally and ruining my relationships all around me. It really felt like I was committing suicide very slowly. The instant I made the decision to move forward with surgery, it was like a million ton rock lifted off of me and for the first time I had hope. Best decision I've made for myself probably ever! Thanks, Kirk

Horribly sad, but for the best. I've broken up with...

...Mexican Food! (But not my hot dish of a latino partner of 9 yrs) It's true. Thought it was time to take the true test and take my beloved out for a belated VD dinner. This was going to be a make or break moment for me. For Mexican food was my passionate lover for many years. Sat down, ate 5 tortilla chips. In my pre-op days, that would have been 2 baskets (at least). Ordered a chicken enchilada expecting explosions of warm waves to course through my body...not so much... It tasted a little like dish soap to me. The love affair is over and I've moved on! Thanks for listening -
Who cares about the cheese... Your RuPaul shirt is FANTASTIC! You definitely have the Courage Uniqueness Nerve and Talent to pull it off.

Express? That means it's actually 4 sizes smaller than the label says, LOL Lookin' good my man, you'll be a twink in no time! Take care and great job!

Stress...wow...What a difference a few months makes!
VSGKirk posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Don't know where to really share this, so I figured I'd share it in the forum of "my people"... I have a very stressful job and have to spend the work week away from home. Many many night pre-op, after a stressful day, I couldn't get to a mexican food place or Taco Bell fast enough. My typical order would be a 2 lb carne asada burrito with EVERYTHING and chips. At Taco Bell, it would be their new XXL Steak nachos, and of course since I would starve on the 5 minute drive home, I'd always have to get an extra burrito or taco to get me started. I was like a drug addict or alcoholic who couldn't wait to get home so I had to start "using" in the car! Fast forward a few months... Work, more stressful than ever. Being away from home, sucks a** big-time. The difference? I bee-line home and log onto VST to see what I've missed throughout the day. I interact with some really fantastic folks who "get" me. I make plans for the future. I look forward to the future. And oh yeah, if I remember... I go over to the fridge and pull out a greek yogurt and feel completely satisfied. Thanks you guys, seriously! -
I don't have any sage advice for you. I'd be scared too! Surgery=Scary, Surgery so far away from home=Really scary! Hopefully if you have internet access you can at least come on here and be reassured by the hundreds of people who have had very positive experiences with WLS in Mexico. Perhaps you'll connect with other patients while there. Be strong - you'll be so happy and proud of yourself on the other side of surgery!
-
When you made the decision to pursue WLS and have the courage to come on here to admit your weakness, you've earned the right to stop beating yourself up over food. I agree, move forward, get back on track, be kind to your body and prepare it for surgery.

I opted for the weekly shots as well. Quick in and out every friday. Better absorbtion into the muscle tissue, better results! I pay $10/week. Let me know if you run across any special deals.

30 lbs in 3 weeks? You're doing great! Don't be frustrated, I've noticed I can go 2-3 days at same weight and then all of a sudden drop a few lbs. My weight loss has looked like this: Wk#1: -12 Wk#2: -7 Wk#3: -6 Wk#4: -4 Wk#5:-3

I'm 6 weeks out and I can eat 2-4 pasta noodles. I have not tried bread more out of fear than anything else. I'm not craving it and am sticking the protein first rule. I don't miss the bread and will put off trying it as long as possible. So far, so good!

GNC Isopure drink and mouth/teeth after taste
VSGKirk replied to sleeve2013's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I drink it everyday. I always thought it was just the whey protein. I always follow it with water. Seems to reduce that residue it leaves behind. -
Have any of you gone to Mexico for surgery without a passport?
VSGKirk replied to lwilliams65's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was born in CA and ordered my birth certificate from vitalchek.com and got it in about 1 week. Went to the passport office and requested (and paid through the nose for my passport) an expedited passport.
