liquid pain meds ?
VSGKirk replied to AshleySkinnyer's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was given liquid pain medication also (Roxicet) - only needed it up until 3 days post-op. It was such a small amount that I could take the whole dose in one gulp - tasted horrible though! -
I have no problems with bread crumbs, Panko or chicken skin. I am really good at sticking to no more than 2 oz of Protein (or anything solid for that matter) at each meal that I don't sweat the carbs or fat. I do however track it all in myfitnesspal because I want to pin-point any problems should they arise. So far, 8 weeks out, no stalls and am averaging about a 3 lb loss per week.

I'm 2 months out and I call my sense of smell my "Spidey Senses" - I can smell everything! I'm attributing it to a cleaner diet perhaps reducing inflammation throughout my body. Just a hunch. But it's weird, I can smell people's breath several feet away and tell you if they have been drinking the night before, whether or not they only had coffee for Breakfast. I smelled Windex and saw that about 50 feet away someone was using it.

I think your instinct in your original post to seek professional help was right on target. Your behavior is putting your life at risk. You did the right thing to reach out to the forum and not hide or internalize your feelings and behaviors, but it sounds extremely serious based on your description and I think you need help beyond what anyone here could recommend. You can do this - I know with the proper support and professional intervention you will be a VST success story. Take care!

I was sleeved at Puget Sound Surgical Center in Edmonds. I live in Capitol Hill M-F and Port Orchard on the weekends. It would be cool to have some kind of gathering!

Would you have paid without insurance coverage?
VSGKirk replied to Houston17's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If I don't lose 1 more pound every dollar of the 16k would be worth it - there is no price tag for how great I feel. I've posted my 2 month post-op video on YouTube. Tell me I don't feel like a million bucks :-) -
Frozen Yogurt Six days out?
VSGKirk replied to kimikat3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think that might have have been okay as long as she paid for them herself. Not sure, I'm still confused. -

Pizza!? Now you're talkin' crazy Just to chime in - because I can't help it... Kim, I took your question as an innocent one. -
Whole Grain crackers
VSGKirk replied to cartmansnj's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would imagine they also dissolve like a saltine or whole grain cracker - good question!? -
I also love a quinoa salad (also from Whole Foods) - but I think I've also had it from Trader Joe's, it was precooked and frozen. I like it a lot - especially with some kind of vinegar dressing and red onions and other crunchy bits!

Who wants to see my stomach?
VSGKirk replied to amytug's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Throw it in your gallery perhaps? -
You're looking pretty svelte there yourself Mr. Fyre!

Scandalous! (But I totally know what you mean!!!)
-
I track actual carbs - but I set my daily goal keeping in mind that some of those will be fiber. If that makes sense?

anyone else frustrated with their surgeon center?
VSGKirk replied to Lyrakl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
For 23k they should be kissing your butt pre-op and post-op (and include post-op support care)! -
Puréed chili was my go to during the purée stage! Tasted no different than regular chili.

I only get on a scale once a week, but when I do - definitely after a nice BM, emptying my bladder twice, stripped nekkid including removing my genital piercing... quite the ritual, but it works for me!

I want to thank everyone on this site that have been so supportive and have provided me with hours of entertainment when it was really important for me to connect with people who knew exactly what I was going through. I want to thank those who have enough confidence to reach out to me for advice and are genuinely appreciative of what I have to say. I want to thank my employer for being so supportive and providing me the financial means to actually be able to afford this surgery and take a genuine interest in my well-being. I want to thank my skilled surgeon for taking such good care of me and has always made sure I never felt like I was left on my own to figure things out. I want to thank my partner of nearly 9 years for supporting me through this process unconditionally because he knew this felt like a matter of life-and-death to me. I want to thank me... well, for once doing something for me, no one else...

Starting the process, and I'm really nervous
VSGKirk replied to thejefe37's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey buddy - if you click on my profile you will find a link to my YouTube channel where I've documented my 1st 7 weeks post-op. You and I are different ages but relatively the same size, so if you would like to see/hear about my successes, check it out! I would ABSOLUTELY do this again and wish I could have done it years sooner!!
