Hello my names is Donna I am 40 years old, I have appointment to talk with a surgeon. For me this is a little weird like I am asking for trouble seeing that I am now celebrating two years with my new liver..back in 2009 I was,shot in the back of the head in a hotel lobby by some random person that was have a dispute with another person ,I got caught in the cross of the fire.. I was,very, very lucky to get out of there alive I had surgery and he bullet was removed.. About three to four months after the shooting I was seeing a doctor in Boston because I had also of problems with my liver as a child and as a adult , I have been on prednisone now for almost twenty years up and down low doses and very high doses..He had told me prior that anything drastic could set off my body to go into liver failure...so of course it did, I was told that I had about two weeks to get myself to the mayo clinic Jacksonville Florida transplant list ...and that's what we did.. I moved within three weeks... I mean I left everything behind..I don't have any children it was just me and my husband. I got sick right away I was accepted on the list and I wait,for three months (of hell) it was everyday that I had to be drained from my back to get the fluid out of my lungs...funny thing was this was the smallest I have been in a long time...I had lost 98lbs on a liquid diet optifast 28weeks of shakes no food.. It was easier not to make the choice to eat then weight watchers, Jenny Craig , slim fast, shall I go on...lol always I had recieved my organ on September 24, 2010 I am going on my two year mark and I am doing great beside a couple of set backs and a whole bunch of prednisone...I have tried everything to lose this weight. I am not happy and I know my husband is not happy with me. I have a great husband and he gave up a lot to leave with me move to Florida and help me get through this.. He is all for the surgery and I just hope they will do seeing I am a transplant patient ...My appointment is for Feb 6, 2013 .
I am praying for this I am about 299 lol I can't say 300 :( I would like to be a healthy weight ...I am worried about throwing all the time because of my meds and how will I crush them I can't...just worried...I am 5"5 and my bmi is 47 I need some advice from people that had medical issues before surgery,, the good thing is it will be done in mayo clinic in Minnesota... Well I'll keep this updated...
