Hi, I also joined curves did my year it really did nothing for me join a real gym you will get much more out of it. I go to a place like curves now it is called contures express if they have one of those I would join it. It is set up like curves but the machines are alot better they are weight type so you can increase you weights as you build strenght and I feel so much better since I joined. JMO, Tracey

Hi, Yes it can be removed but my removal was way worse than the placing of the band so if I were you I would rethink that and remember why you had it placed in the first place and give yourself sometime. trust me it gets better. Tracey

Hi Pam, My band was also removed due to erision but my dr. said he thinks there is to much scare tissue to have a new one placed. You might see if your medical insurance will help pay maybe if you see a dr. in the US for this maybe you can get your insurance to cover the removal my insurance did I just had to pay the out of pocket cap 2000.00 for it. Hi, You might check if you have insurance if it is a need to have it out emergency they probably will pay my insurance did.It cost a little more than 30,000 that was for the hospital and all. I had a 2000.00 out of pocket cap and that is what i had to pay. Tracey

Hi, I will say that the first time I went to see Dr. Tersigni I did not care for him but when he removed my band he was very caring and nice. His office staff is great they are all so caring and kind.He is a great DR. As far as Iam doing well lets see after the 2 weeks of liquids only it probably took me about 3 weeks to put on 20lbs.. I have now joined LA weight loss and have RELEASED (thats my new word instead of lost because if you loss something you want to usually find it and I never want to find the weight again.) about 13lbs of the 20lbs I had gained I have alot more to still release. Good luck I would have another band in a heart beat but Dr. Tersigni thinks that there is to much scar tissue to place a band. Tracey

Hi, Dr. Tersigni is who removed my band due to erosion and he has been able to drop his fees so I think it is right around 9800.00 now. Just thought I would add that. Tracey

Hi, I live in Eugene and I had the band but had to have it removed due to erison but there is another person that live in Coburg she does not post much on here she is very busy with school and work but we do meet every couple weeks or so for coffee usually in the evening. Hi, This happened to me but it was from having a C-Section birth I also waited because I had no insurance finally went to see a Dr. in Washington he said that my port needed to be taken out and replaced the area cleaned well to make short I ened up losing my band due to erision BECAREFUL the infection can attack the band tubbing my infection was running up and down the tubing from port to band!! I no it cost but my insurance did cover the cost of the band removal I also was a self pay MX> patient it cost over 30,000 to have the band taken out so please go see someone. I miss my band everyday I wish I still had it. Would have another band placed in a heart beat but to much scare tissue. My band was removed in the US. Tarcey

Hi, There is a Dr. Coos bay Oregon that does it for right around 10,000 and that includes free after care for a year! He is awesome he did not place my band but he did remove my band due to erosion. I wish he had placed it. Let me know if you want to know more about him. Tracey Anderson

I said that I would never have to go to another WW meeting after I got the band well I have gain 20lbs since having to be unband in Jan. I new I had to due something other wise the 100lbs I lost would be back and I do not want that. Wish me luck. Tracey Anderson

Hi, I had my band removed in Jan.2006 due to it erdoding. I asked the Dr. that removed it not the same one that placed it if he would place another band and he said he would have to think about it he thought that there might be to much scare tissue to replace it. He said I probably should have the G-bypass. For now Iam taking Effexor and Phentermine together to help with hunger it seems to really help. Now if I can just not eat when Iam not hunger! Tracey

Hi, I had my band placed in MX also but had to have it removed in the US due to it eroding but since it was a emergency my insurance covered it. Will your insurance maybe cover it? Maybe you should see if the Dr. and Hospital will atleast send it in for you to see if they might. It surley can't hurt to try. Good Luck. Tracey

Hi, have any of you that have eroded thought about being rebanded? Will the Dr. do it? I have heard 6 months after it has been removed? My band was removed Jan. 24th. I have a appointment on April 10th and I am going to ask the surgen if he will even do it. I was just wondering how everyone was doing with there weight I have not lost or gained anything since it has been removed. Just a thought about rebanding. Thank you, Tracey

Hi, I had the band and it eroded and I so wish that I would have just done RNY in the first place. A few months before I had the band placed I had talked with a RNY surgen and he was willing to lower his cost to help me out but the Hospital was still out of reach for me but I so wish that now I would have some how some way tried to get the money. For all I have spent on the band for fills travel and then having to pay for it to be taken out well not the whole bill but 2300.00 plus I would have had the GB paid for by now. Just my thoughts now I fight and try to find away to get the GB. 3 years later.. Tracey

Hi, I just want to thank everyone for there replys. Dr. Pleatman how about we make a deal for a really cheap GB. I thank GOD my insurance is paying for my removal it cost well over 40,000.00 to have the band removed. I have a copay and a 2000.00 out of pocket that I have to pay but other wise they are covering the rest. Now for GB they do not cover it at all. I tried that before I had the band placed. Hi Lena, I will try to make this short for you I had a baby last April 2005 2 weeks after my c-section my port site filled up with fluid so I had went to see a Dr. neal in washington in Aug. to have it checked and he said that the port needed moved and the area cleaned so it took his office several months to see if my insurance would cover any of it. My insurance said that they would cover the part of having the port removed and the area cleaned and that was all no part of the new port or anything like that so I said okay how much will be my part there quote total was 5000 so how much of that do I have to pay I have not heard back from them yet the last time I talked to them was in DEC. 2005 and the office person Nancy said go back to MX so I went to see another band Dr. in Coos bay Oregon in Dec. he said I needed a Endo so in the mean time I had his office send papers to my insurance because at this time I did not know I was eroded I just thought I needed the site cleaned my port moved so my insurance said the same thing about what they would pay for also they would cover the Endo except for my co-pay deductable okay so on Jan.23rd I had the endo he said I was more than 60% eroded so it had to come out the next day. I had talked to my insurance before hand and asked them if it has to come out would they pay I had been given a nurse case manager that was handling my claim and she told me if it had to come out she would go to bat forme to get them to pay for it. After we left the Dr. office we went to a hotel to stay the night and my husband called the case manager left a message said it has to come out ASAP tomorrow I was in the hospital for 2 days before we got home it is a 3 hour drive to the Dr. I had a approval letter in the mail saying that they would pay for it. I got the paper work this week that they paid all but my 300.00 deductable and 2000.00 that is my out of pocket cap for the year to bad it did not come out in 2005 because I had already paid 2300.00 to have my daughter.. Get your Dr. office to send in a claim push it as for a case manager PRAY alot. Good Luck I hope this helps, Tracey

Hi, Well I had my band removed on Jan.24 due to erosion and my insurance is going to pay. It cost about 39,000 to have the thing removed with the hospital stay and all. I also had my band placed in MX. I live in Oregon and have pacific source insurance. I dont about there insurances. Hope this help some. Tracey

Hi, Sorry to here this. I had my band removed on Jan.24 due to erosion and I could just KICK myself a hundred time over that I did not have him due the RNY I think I had no time to think about it I went for a endo on the 23rd had it out the nxt day had I had time like you I would have never left the table without some type of other WLS. Now I battle just keeping the 100 off I lost and I still need to lose another 100 plus. It cost about 39,000 to hvae my band removed and I only paid 7250.00 for the band to be placed in MX but it was removed in Oregon. Thank GOD my insurance is paying for all but 2000.00 that is my out of pocket for the year deductible. Other wise I am sure what I would be doing if I had to pay 39,000 . Good Luck, Tracey

I believe that it comes with follow up care for 1 year fills and after care is included in the base price. Im in the process of healing and trying to see if he will place another band in 6 months. Hi, I have no Idea were you live or if you want to travel but there is a Dr. in Coos bay Oregon that will place it for 13,000 for a out patient I think if you do not live in the town you hvae to stay at a local hotel for a couple days. He is a really nice Dr. he just removed mine due to ersion I only wish he would have been the Dr. that placed it in the first place. good luck let me know if you want his information.Tracey

Hi, I have a few things to say first off would it be in the End of the world if your child has ADD NO would it be better for him to have Meds if he has it YES why because they will make him feel better about himself!!! Do you think he likes not being able to sit and listen like the other class mates do. Do you think he does not know he is different and do you think he can help himself. I have a 8 year old son that has ADD we took him to a behavioral Dr. when he was only 4 because Im a in home daycare provider and could just tell that he had things going on. Yes he was only 4 he has been on Meds since he was 4. He is very slow in school about a year behind he is in special classes at school. We just took him to a 2 day testing that cost over 1700 dollars for all of this. It is very sad to know as a parent that your child could have a condition a life long condition but just think what you have done to help yourself with your weight condition and know that you would only be helping him just like you are helping yourself. He will feel better about himself and as he gets older he will only notice more and more that things about himself are different .So just remember that know matter what you will be helping him and you have to put aside the worries about labels from others. And believe me if he feels better things at home will get much better for everyone. Good Luck , Tracey
