Melbournian sleevers are letting the page down!
k8ee replied to k8ee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Surgery date: 7 May 2013 Hospital: dandenong valley. Starting weight: 110 Current: 96 ( put on 3kg and into my 7th week of stalling arrrggggghhhh!) -
So I'm going on a plane on Friday and didn't even consider if I couldn't! My question is ... Is it ok to start flying at 3 and a 1/2 months out from surgery? The reason I ask is when I had the lapband I struggled flying and couldn't eat for at least 5 days and could only intake liquid due to swelling. Anyone's experiences and thoughts are most welcome

That is definitely one thing I can't wait to try out and I'm sure the person next to me will be happy too now that I will only be in my seat!

Fantastic! I hope I'm the same

Welcome to the other side! -
I have been so patient and kept telling myself that i will lose weight and break this stall but honestly this is ridiculous. I am exercising, eating 800-1000 calories (as per dietician advice) and I drink 2 ltrs of water every day. I feel so disheartened about the whole thing. I thought I'd broken the stall but now I've actually put on weight. I really don't want to vent but I have no family to talk to about this and I don't really want to bother my friends about it as they just probably think all I do is talk about weight and the sleeve. I work extremely long hours so I can't join a group either but I want to know how to break this stall 6 weeks now

To answer your questions.. When was your surgery? 3 and a half mo this ago. I log everything in MFP daily. I get in 80 grams or more of protein a day. Workouts consist of treadmill, bike, cross trainer and swimming x 4-5 times a week + on the weekend a 2 hour session. I also do toning sessions. My heart rate is normally up at 160-170 during cardio workouts. I don't measure myself but I don't feel different in my clothes.

Good point about the sleep! I think that definitely contributed to it.

May sleevers! How much have you lost so far?

Hi pink drogoness! I'm in your boat too. I was sleeved may 7 and, like you have lost 35pound. I thought I was a slow loser but after talking to my dietician and surgeon they have both assured me I am on track. I think because you hear a lot of different reviews from people (mostly fantastic WL stories) on here the people who are on track or a little slower seem to hide in the wood work. Don't get discouraged and keep up the good work. I was worried too but had to retrain my brain!! -
Everyone is different and lose at a different pace. Take comfort in knowing you will lose if you are doing everything right. I stall every 3 weeks for 3 weeks at a time and I know how you feel. But I do take comfort in knowing that at the end of each stall is a bigger loss! Good luck

Don't stress too much, I stall for 3 weeks every 3 weeks but at the end of it is always a loss. Good luck with the progress, I'm sure you'll do great!

Very sad news. To all of the pre sleevers, It goes to show its not a light decision to be made.
-
3 week stall just broke and I've dropped another 3kg. Wahoo! I don't mind a stall if I lose a kg for each week stalled!

I hated the lap band too. It did nothing but give me grief. My dr even admitted that there was a lap band band wagon and as it went past, he jumped on it! He said before I got the sleeve that if I was to walk in now and see him about WLS and not have had any pre surgery that he would have recommended the sleeve. Go the sleeve!

I feel like I'm slacking on my protein. I get in about 70g on average a day but I've noticed that the weight doesn't budge if u don't get all of your protein and water intake for the day and takes a while to kick start again. Die yo my long hrs at work i keep forgetting to Est and drink and I'm now in my 3rd week of stalling not happy.

I was sleeved nearly 3 months ago and suffered extreme nausea for the 1st 2 months, especially in the mornings. I am on nexium to help with the acid (which helps with the nausea in the mornings too). Dont get me wrong, i do still get nausea but mot as frequently. A lot of people mention this happening to them and mention taking meds for the acid reflux which helps with the nausea so it would be worthwhile having a chat to your dr.
