It took me 6 days. I tried warm pear or prune juice. Drink a glass or two of that a day and you will see some movement (but makes sure it's warm). Another all natural fibre supplement which you can mix through foods or drink and not taste it is Benefibre.

Agree ^^^^ I definitely feel the same but I can tell the difference and know its head hunger. I think we are all in the same boat here and totally understand what everyone is going through. I was sleeved 6 days ago (may 7) and I feel amazing! Next to no pain, losing weight and feeling great. I really do feel blessed after so many complications with the band and no weight loss. I have been in the kitchen cooking up a storm. It's great to try new recipes and then put them in teeny tiny containers to freeze! I still spin out at the fact I will only stomach 150ml of food!

I had the same question! I was sleeved on May 7 and will start walking more next week but besides that I'm also cooking for the food phases and freezing them but after that....then what?

To answer the question about sleeping. Yes it is uncomfortable to sleep for the first couple of nights because of the drainage bag but then you will find it easier. It's really trying to turn over because you don't realize how many stomach muscles you use to do that! I had my sleeve done May 7. I'm still in hospital as my veins collapsed and I needed to get a picc line in to have a drip in for longer to keep my fluids up. Ill be going home Saturday (fingers crossed)! Key things to remember when you do have surgery is try to get up out of bed the next day. Walk for a couple of mins at a time. Walking really helps with the recovery and you feel better too! Good luck to all May sleevers pre and post op! -
No but if you find out let me know how to!

I'm still in hospital and am at the end of day 3. I had been given a book of what to eat (guidelines) for each phase. Eg week 1 post op 5 small meals a day(liquid). You should try and get in at least 2 protein drinks, drinking yoghurt, milkshake and thin soup. Then in between all of that drink plenty of water. My question is though, why does the hospital at each meal time, give me all of the above????!?!! Clearly I can't drink it all and I am just making sure I still get my requirements. But for those who didn't know I thought this was a worthwhile post. Ps the walking definitely does help. I have done 4 x 15 minute stints today and feeling really positive about everything!

I can't believe after nearly 2 and a half years living with the lap band as a failure that my big day has finally arrived to get my VSG done. My big day is tomorrow and I'm so ready for my new life changes ahead. This day has crept up quickly but I'm sure everything will be fine. I already have my food (liquid) prepped for when I get home. Bring it on!

Thanks mistysj! I'm in on may 7 and feeling anxious! I hope your surgery goes well.

I'm may 7 too! -
Thank you to everyone who posted comments and shared their experiences. I have a better insight now and I really think that a 0 tolerance to alcohol while I heal is definitely the way to go! Thank peeps!

I'm scheduled for the VGS on the 7th May. I'm really looking forward to my life changes ahead. I know it will be hard but one of my biggest concerns is not being able to drink the alcohol of my choice (Jim Beam with Coke Zero) anymore as ill feel full. I socialize every weekend and I will be impacted by this change and wanted your thoughts and views on this subject. What do people drink when socializing? Are you restricted? How long did you have to wait before having a drink?

Anybody regretted it, even with no complications?
k8ee replied to musiclover's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same question about regrets. I'm booked in for the 7th May and scared and excited at the same time. But what really gets my mind ticking is the thought of how hungry I'll get after the op. I know when I was banded I was still hungry all the time and had absolutely no success with weight loss. I'm worried that when I have the VGS that ill still be hungry and won't lose weight. How does everyone cope with hunger? -
