I am 5 months post-op. Start at 184 and now 145. Have had very few issues. However now feeling weak and less uhngry then before. At one point I was concerned because I could eat so much. Now full after less food. Has that happened to anyone? Drinking plenty of fluids and 45-60 grams protien most days. I do miss fruits and veggies but cant fit them in. Interestinly I could graze on junk all day. Go figure. Thanks ps- we are having heat wave and not sure if that is reason for weakness?

I also had surgery on Feb 11. I was 184. As of last week I was 166, 18 lbs lost. It is slow but it is steady. I think when you dont have as much to lose it takes longer. -
OMG, I am feeling the same way. I am 5 weeks out and feeling miserable today. I want to be able to enjoy food. I also made a scrambled egg. Ate 2 bits and then stomach upset. I am hoping it passes.

sue8925 replied to rxkid2384's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I am always hungry too. It stinks. Working on small amounts every 2-3 hours. I can resist now before surgery that was impossible. Its a journey we are on. Of course food still looks and smells good. Food didnt change, we did. I am also surrounded by foodies, uggg -
The tofu patties do stick together and even more after they bake. Tonight I tried black bean soup that I pureed. I must say it was good and filling. I also put lots of veggies in it for fiber. For lunch applesauce with cottage cheese. Alos bought canned crabmeat which is very soft--didnt care for that but you all may like it. Hang in there! I find I am hungry every few hours. Not like before surgery but it is hunger. I thought I wouldnt be hungry.

sue8925 replied to SuchaPrettyFaceBUT's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didnt tell anyone. I needed to lost 60 lbs. Down 12 since surgery. The fact of the matter was I could not lose it, just could not. The surgery is a tool a life saver. The work is all mine to do -
Lots of egg white salad. Also tofu patties. Dry tofu, blend with one egg and whatever you wAnt. I use carrots, yellow peppers and onions. Get mixture cold. Bake at 400 until crispy. So good, my kids keep stealing them. They travel well and cause no stomach upset. Look for high protein tofu.

I just started, I am thinking chicken salad, egg salad, eggs, soups. Tonight I made some hamburg and baked it. Not bad. eggs, onions, bread crumbs and bar b q sauce then baked it, was mushy cuz of sauce. I also made potatoes and mashed some. I dont like yogurt but you can have that. I also make tofu patties, very soft and good for you. Do you like cootage cheese? Tofu Patties Tofu eggs veggies(whatever you want) relish(if you like it) Bake them at 400 drgrees. They disappear in my house. Good Luck

I may have posted this in the wrong place--sorry. Had my surgery on Feb 11. I have done great--feel so good and clothes are loose. I still am having Blood Sugar issues. Prior to surgery I was on metforim, Amary and Victozia--they were working well but I had a lot of nausea. In the hospital I was taken off of those meds and put on Lantus. The Lantus is not helping. My endo doc says I can go back on Metforim and Victozia. I am concerned because they cause stomach upset and slowing of emptying of stomach contents. anyone on these meds post-op? have many appts but docs are telling me different things.

You are doing great! Just start slow and you will know when you have built up some strength.Anything you will do helps. if you can afford a trainer that might help. I just caution everyone to make sure it is a good trainer who will listen to your concerns. Good Luck
