If so do you know of a support group that meets more than once a month?

My boyfriend likes bj's. I am one month out and just don't know if I can give him one yet. Don't know if constant gagging will hurt my sleeve. Yikes embarrassing.

I had a stricture five weeks post op and they dilated my stomach. I thought that I would be able to eat after this....nope my doctor kept me on liquids. I am dying. I had gotten used to eating "normal" food. I just want mashed potatoes. I can eat yogurt but I can't eat cream soups or mashed potatoes. I am going insane. Has anyone else had to take so many steps back in your diet?

It is just so depressing. My family is eating in front of me. I wish they would all eat liquids too.

Cindi- It actually happened all of the sudden. I was getting nauseated after I would eat anything. I could only take two bites and I was so sick. I I didn't throw up I felt like I was going to. After a few days of this I could barely drink liquids without severe pain. So I went to my surgeon and they admitted me to the hospital. Good thing becaus my potassium levels were beyond low. I was there for three days. They did an endoscopy and cleared the stricture (narrowing of the stomach) however on top of this I had scar tissue built up inside my stomach. They then dilated my stomach with a "balloon." I now can't have anything to eat. I am just upset because I had gotten so far, and now I have taken steps back. If u are feeling like that I Would call the doctor. How far out are you?

I wanted to thank everyone for their advice yesterday. The results of my upper GI came back and I have a stricture. I thought I was doing something wrong but it turns out my body just hates me . Has this happened to anyone else? What did you do? Did u have the regrets that I have?

How much do they stretch it? Are we back On an all liquid diet?

Is anyone else having major pain while eating and drinking. I I eat it hurts and I am nauseous. I called and went to my doctor he said to go back To liquids. I did today and I couldn't even get the protein shake down....I am five weeks out. I just Had an upper GI but I didn't know if anyone else had experienced this.

I am not eating anything. Barely drinking and I am already on meds for acid reflux.....and I NEVER drink and eat at the same time....ever!

Talked to my NUT today and she told me to go ahead and have a nice night and a glass of wine with my friends. She said it is going to absorb differently so take it easy

I am a month out and proud to say 31 lbs down. However my 30th birthday is right around the bend. Can I have even one glass of wine?? I know I can't eat out with my family? But a glass of Pinot noir would be nice. Opinions?

So gross....but I do it because (as previously stated), he loves it. I don't mind at all just don't want to hurt myself!!

I am three weeks post op and I am making my family Spanish rice for dinner can I have a 1/4 cup of this or no?

I do have a NUT and she told me that I was ready to move past puréed to soft food. I can only eat four to five bites at a time. I appreciate your feedback. I think I am just going through some major mental hunger. It's so hard when I have to cook for others. I can only get protein in at this point. I can't add veggies they just don't fit.

I am three weeks out and 30lbs down. I expect a stall at any point in time now. How long will a stall last for? What do I do when it does happen? Megan

Help! Is there any real food that tastes good puréed? I am having a tough time gettin my protein in and my surgeon is concerned that the protein shakes are irritating my stomach. I talked to my NUT yesterday and she suggested pureeing soup, I did it and I wanted to be sick. I made that ricotta bake that was on here and it was just too much cheese. I am two weeks out and am desperately regretting this decision.

I appreciate the suggestions, but am having a very hard time with puréed meats.

I can't have raw veggies yet.
