    Going Home

I wore the exact same clothes i went to the hospital in. Of course- i put on new panties! Other than that - same exact clothes - no problem. I had no drains or real swelling that was notable.

    Trouble eating

Make sure your doctor is aware of all your details.

    I miss my vodka!

be careful. It takes a few months for your new stomach to heal. You can easily have problems with alcohol. Ulcers for starters. Gastritis. Transfer addictions. The bad empty calories that will stall weight loss. The list goes on. I was in a hurry too to get back to my alcohol. but iam going to wait exactly 6months.

    awkward female question

no problem wearing a bra home from the hospital and no problems since
  5. When i was in my 20s i said the exact same thing as you hon. The truth is- when people eat past an average amount of food to fill them up- it truly is emotional eating. It is a mental game through and through. When you are able to use the surgery help you as a tool--- you will begin to see clearly how often you ate out of different emotions - such as boredom, loneliness, rejection, fear, insecurity, anger, hate..the list goes on. Do not fool yourself to thinking you do not eat emotionally - or you will struggle harder..good luck sweetie.
  6. I have to hide the fact that I had surgery for several different reasons. It must feel so liberating to not have to hide it. You are lucky to have the support. Happy for you and keep up the great work.

    Loose Skin Worries

I plan on plastic surgery as well. Definatley breast augmentation and getting the loose skin taken off my abdomen. However, even with out surgery-- and even though I don't really want loose skin-- it to me will be better than having fat rolls to live with. I will be able to hide most of the skin issues with clothes. AS long as I am healthy--- I will be grateful. Loose skin will not prevent me from doing all the things that fat has all these years. I always have had muscular legs- thank goodness. Keep us posted.

Almost 5 Months ... And I Will Never Be The Same Again!

what a great post. Good for you! I needed to read that today. Although I have had great success with my weight loss- 76 pounds since January 14th, 2013-- I have been really depressed these past 2 weeks and I don't really know why.
  11. I had terrible pains when i was pre-op on the liquid diet. I would describe them as painful muscle spasms/cramps. They lasted the whole 2 weeks pre-op. i haven't had one pain like that since the surgery though. Doctor said it was common but didn't really give me an answer as to why.

    Post surgery depression/anxiety

Please find a good support group and a behavior specialist. It will be soooo helpful. I tried chewing on food I was missing and spit it out instead of swallowing. It was awful- I felt like it was vomit. So now I have lots of sugar free gum. Whenever I want to "chew" - I get the gum.

    frustrated :-(

I agree with water, water, and more water. I have not had any stalls yet. I usually lose 3 to 4 pounds per week- except for 1 week- where I will lose 1 pound. I am convinced it is because I drink 80 oz of water per day and I get 60 to 80 grams of protein in everyday. And I walk. Being a female -the weeks you ovulate and get your monthly visit- will be when you "stall". This is just my opinion.

How does it feel to be full?

i always feel really nauseated when i eat that last bite when i know im full. So for the most part- i measure my food. I can eat 5 ounces total for a meal. I eat it slow and then that is it.

    Wow are we adults?

I am glad I was not the only one who felt like that. I see a lot of sarcasm and rudeness on here. I posted something and it was taken so wrong. I got slammed for somebody's perception of what was written. I just ignore those certain ignorant folks. Pretty sad they are so insecure with their own lives that they have to pick people apart. Stay positive.
  16. You will be physically ready for sure. With in a day or 2 you should be up walking- a lot- to avoid DVT's. A couple weeks later you won't even feel like you had surgery. But your stomach will remember. Stick to your bariatric guidelines and you will feel fantastic. What a great way to start your exercise program. Stay positive! Good luck.

    Always being a 'big guy'

1I am a girl! But I am curious- what are your advantages to being a big guy? Only you know how you are gonna feel but this I know-- when you are smaller- you will love it. Any big guy or gal will tell you- the advantages of being on the slimmer side of life--> far "out -weigh" any possible pro to being big. Keep us posted on how you feel sweetie!! Good luck!
  18. It is so much easier to stick to a healthy eating plan-- because you really do get so full- on a very small amount of food. Just always eat your protein first. By the time you are done with that- you won't want anymore. It is awesome. I had my surgery January 14, 2013-- I have lost 75 pounds already. No regrets. Good luck.
  19. Great for you! i know that super exciting feeling. I have lost 66 pound in 12 weeks. THAT would have never happened without the surgery. I feel like i have finally one the battle. I love being in onderland too.

    Hello, I am new

You won't be a plus sized person. And you need to start telling your brain that. Celebrate the woman you were always meant to be. Your posts are great.

OMG, 3 people called me skinny yesterday!

I have no regrets for keeping my surgery to myself. It truly is nobody's business. You still have to do serious hard work. There are people that have surgery and fail - regain all the weight they lost. They don't follow any diet plan. So just because a person has surgery does not mean they have done something wrong- it does not mean they should have something to hide. Your body is your business. Don't worry about co-workers. They won't be in your life forever. Right? And you do look fabulous. ENJOY it.

Trying to hit my first goal.

Hell yeah your gonna do it!! NO doubt! Just keep doing what your doing--- amp up the water for sure. good luck and keep us posted.

I may be going it alone...

That does suck! But guess what-- you really can do this on your own. It is very quick and you will be home and on the mend before you know it. You will be ok. And don't let anything stop you- no matter what. It was the best decision I ever made- wish I Could have done it 10 years ago.
  24. What a beautiful post. i can feel your light!!!

    No mojo in the bedroom

When you lose weight - it wreaks havoc on all your hormones and your emotions. Pamper yourself and treat your self like you are the sexiest goddess on earth. And do that everyday. It is very much mental and hormonal. Once you are stable for a while with your weight it should even out for you. And while I am not a prude--- porn may backfire for you. It did for me. I actually became less interested in sex-- because my body didn't look like the hot girls on the video. But please note --this is only my opinion and I don't mean to offend anybody on this site. The way I word things sometimes doesn't always come out right. Good luck.
