Hello! I just found this forum! My surgery date is tomorrow, march 4th, at 7:30am, my bowel is all prepped (lol), and I am so excited! I am 5ft 10in, and hovering right at 300.... -
Pre Surgery Bowel Prep Blues
isenbergl replied to Lexsan's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good question! What is the purpose?!? I have heard some say that they WISH they would have done it because they were so constipated for days afterward, it was very painful....Honestly though, I was never told why. And, I am fine now. It was just getting that stuff down that was the worst. -

Thank you! Thank you!! It is all down here from here...right?? My hubs just took our kiddos to mother in laws. It was sad to see them go, I will not see them for 4 days, but it surely does bring the level of stress down a bit! -
Pre Surgery Bowel Prep Blues

It has kicked in and I finally got it all down. Probably because I have not had any restrictions on food until today. Maybe takes a little longer to work it out -
Pre Surgery Bowel Prep Blues
isenbergl replied to Lexsan's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
yes - 3 bottles of magnesium citrate. They are small...like maybe 8-10 ounces each. Like the size of a small pop bottle. Does that seem like a lot? I re-read the directions a million times, and it is def. 3 bottles of it, split into 2 separate times through out day. -

Best tasting protein shake with hiighest pdcaas?
isenbergl posted a topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Getting ready for my sleeve on March 4th. I would assume this question is on here somewhere, but I can not find it, so I will ask again. What do you think is the best protein supplement out there, considering pdcaas score, taste, and value? I need to stock up. -

isenbergl replied to Mae8217's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thank you so much for taking the time to do this play by play! I am scheduled for surgery with Dr. Ben Meir on March 4th. I live in Warren. This was so helpful and, although I am not even nervous yet, makes me feel even more comfortable! I can't wait!! -

How crazy! I have a feeling we may have been at the same meeting in July! I too live in Warren, and am scheduled to have my surgery at St. Vincent's on March 4th! Any advice or support would be much appreciated! -
Surgeons in Cleveland Ohio?
isenbergl replied to sweetie022972's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I am scheduled for surgery at St. Vincent's with Dr. Ben Meir on March 4th. While I wouldn't hesitate to go to Cleveland Clinic if my insurance would not pay for St. Vincent's, I totally agree with everything that was also mentioned above. I am so eager for the next week to fly by! I know I am in great hands! -

isenbergl replied to victoriatxgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am just getting ready to have my sleeve on March 4th, but this caught my eye because I wear spanx everyday now, and see it probably won't be much different after ....LOL! -
March 5th is the big day! Anyone else?
isenbergl replied to sleevemeplano's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am March 4th at Saint Vincent's Charity, in Cleveland, OH. I just had my day of pre-surgical testing and am so excited, and much less nervous. I started ordering/ buying my supplies and what not, things like a robe, gauze pads, and protein shakes. I know the next 2 weeks are going to fly by, but I feel like I can hardly wait to gets started and on my way. Don't get me wrong, I know it is going suck for quite awhile, but I am so ready to start this journey! -
Petrified of Hair Loss! :-O
isenbergl replied to toylitpapr's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been worried about this as well, but do not have any great answers. Would be interested in hearing some real facts around what causes hair loss. I can say that did experience a lot of hair loss around my 2 c-sections when I had my kids. I attributed it to the hormones, but have seen learned that just having surgery in general can cause it. Would be interesting if there was something I could do to be proactive. That being said, I was no where near needing a wig. And it all evened out around 4-6 months. -
I just got my date today too! March 4th, which feels like eternity, considering I started this process back in May of 2012! They put me on a cancellation list! LOL! If they get a cancellation, they will call me, and I would have to go in the next day for my pre surgery testing and the surgery would be the next week. Fingers crossed someone cancels and I can get all my ducks in a row to have it a little sooner!

Hi, New to Forum...working up for VSG in July
isenbergl replied to Survivor1969's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I can sympathize with you. I too struggle with who to tell that I am having the surgery, which should be happening in the next month. (I just completed my 6 months of dietician visits and received approval from insurance). I have received mixed comments from the people I have told, and unfortunately it is the negative ones that hurt the most. I don't want to tell everyone that I know that I am having the surgery, but I also don't want to be dishonest about how I lost the weight because I know the questions about how I did it are going to come. I also would appreciate any advice in this area. Thus far I have only told close friends, my family, and my manager. -
