I am almost one year out, and I have been same weight for about 4 months now. I am supposed to lose 14 more # to reach my goal. I am very happy where I'm at, so not sure if I'll evet get to goal. Sometimes our bodies stop where they feel the healthiest, sometimes its not a number thing. Hang in there and just keep doing the right things. -
What my husband says about me & my sleeve
JP69 replied to McButterpants's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Wow, I think that will touch all people who read it. My husband is alot like yours, he loves me no matter what I weigh. He thought I was crazy to have the surgery, but he also understood my troubles and health problems and ended up supporting me 100%. So thank god for dream husbands like ours it truely makes life wonderful. -
I am almost one year! Jan. 14. I lost about half the thickness of my hair also. It has been growing back for about 3 1/2 months now. I have about 2 1/2 in sprout all over, some longer pieces underneath, so yes it does come back. Probably by about 18 months it will be back to normal, small price to pay for being happy and

WATCH OUT FOR THOSE WHO TELL U ITS OK TO EAT THINGS ONCE IN A WHILE!
JP69 replied to MsFab1988's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It just depends on the person. I don't have cheat days, I just eat what I want. Not saying I eat junk food, I eat very healthy everyday, but when I do want something I do eat it, but in moderation. I wasnt a candy or junkfood person so for me its a little easier to control. my deal was just good food and a lot of it. Each of us is different and your right dont listen to other people about what you can and cant eat. learn your body, know your weaknesses and be succussesful. -
Mine was normal to the first few times, then it was pretty early a few times. now 8 months out its back to normal. rapid weight loss messes with it.

Will I still enjoy cooking for my Family after Sleeve?
JP69 replied to Blondi418's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Most everyone agrees the same on this, there is a short period where its not very enjoyable because if the liquid diet, then soft foods etc.. especially if like me i still had to cook for my family everday. but when yo u can start eating small amounts of your meals again you get back to enjoying it. -
How many of you have lost hair?
JP69 replied to GirlOnFire's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

How do you respond... Your loosing weight? What are you doing are you ok?
JP69 replied to sureaboutme2's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I tell people that are more just aquaintances that I'm just been making changes for a healthier life. Those much closer to me know the truth. I dis start losi.g weight around Sept of last year, and then had surgery in Jan. so I was already down in weight by the time my surgery date came along. So being down almost 80# feels more since last Sept. people think ita been over a course of a year. I haven't had not one bad feedback from anyone thank god! Same as someone else just said, people are asking me for advice, and that is so flattering:) -
No doubt your hitting a rough patch:( Hang in there. I too have lost alot of hair, and I had really pretty hair. I'm 61/2 months and it has slowed downed coming out. As far as sunken eyes, we are losing weight rapidly, I had bags and wrinkles all of a sudden and freaked out, but now at 61/2 months my skin is starting to look much better and I only have wrinkles when I don't get enough sleep:) Hang in there it will start to improve and you shouldn't loae all your hair. Just get your protien in and lots of water and vitamins. In a few more months you'll kook and feel likw a whole new person! Good Luck:-)
-
Beach lovers right, you should try. 90# is alot, youve come this far just go for it and enjoy:-)
-
congrats, keep up the hard work.

One Month Post-Op and still feel BLAH.
JP69 replied to DebCat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It does get better, try just getting your protien down and water or any liquid. I had days where one day I couldn't even fold laundry without feeling weak as hell, but the next day had more energy. Started to eat more cheese, yogurt and fish, overall just protien till my energy level picked up. Now 61/2 months later that feels like years ago. Hang in there, your body is in recovery, and everyone heals at different rates. -

Any other chefs or food industry people out there?
JP69 replied to jennifermcj's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have always worked around food too, its is hard, but started 3 months before surgery to quit nibbling, and bringing my own snacks and lunch. After surgery it was easy cause for months I was afraid to eat anything I wasn't supposed to eat. Now I can eat just about anything, but now I am used to my healthy snacks
