How many of you recent sleevers are hungry?
JP69 replied to jacee's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yes my Dr. said the same things. You will learn to listen to your body. I am 6 1/2 weeks out and I get really hungry if I go to long in between meal. But the crazy part is, you can be famished, but after 2oz you feel stuffed! Its crazy how the sleeve is such an awesome tool. It does boil down to choices. Do you want 2oz of protien or 2oz of chocolate or junk. You are gonna be hungry for real good food, and your cravings will slowly go away. you are'nt gonna want to waste what little food you can eat on something unhealthy. Good luck:) -
Oh gosh, I have been watching the lobster commercials, but then I think of those cheddar biscuits too:( I will go to Costco and get a lobster tail instead:)

I am 6 1/2 weeks out and I have only had bread once. It was whole wheat toasted very good and I could only eat a1/2 of a 1/2 after eating my egg. You eat your protein first, then a few bites of veggies if I'm lucky and then I'm full. So bread just doesn't fit. Instead I eat crackers with chili and tuna etc...

JP69 replied to tb21872's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome! And congats on your surgery and weight loss. This is an excellent sight. You will find lots of topics, or post your own if you have questions about anything. There are people on here that consist of newbies all the way to people who were sleeved for years. Everyone is so nice and very helpful. Try the recipe forum for great recipes and more. Sorry about your bad start, but it will get better. Just stay positive and focused:) -
I agree with everyone else. This is awful advice. My surgeon would laugh at this. I am always looking for something new to cook and try. This is how I feel like I am eating like a normal person. And there are lots of good recipes on the recipe forum.

My first experience last week was terrible. I thought they would have at least a Tuna melt on the menu, so I would take it off the bread, well they had nothing like that just big French dip sandwiches and burgers not even a grilled chicken sandwich. Everything was battered or deep fried. I ended up with a cup of homemade clam chowder, which I'm sure was a little heavy on the fat. But 4 bites and 4 saltines later I was stuffed:) Husband ate the rest.

Wow is all I can say! These Drs are crazy. Curious-is this an out of pocket pd surgery? I had no liquid diet at all except after surgery, and that was easy cause you have no appetite. I did have to lose 20# before surgery, and I did it 2 1/2 months, then my Dr scheduled my surgery. I even ate a regular meal the night before surgery. I just dont get why these Drs are torturing you with liquid diets before surgery:(

Can't Afford Plastics :,(
JP69 replied to soontobeskinnymini's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I carried a lot of my weight in my gut, I had a big hanging belly. It has gotten much smaller and I van deal with it cause I look pretty darn good on my new size 12 jeans. But I can't handle whats happening with my face! Under my chin is looking like crinkle paper And I have more wrinkles under my eyes. I can't afford plastic surgery probably never, so anyone have any suggestions for a neck and eye cream that will tighten me up? -
Depends on your size and age:) you can still have cellulite even if your skin and bones. It's in your genes.

I had bo for the first time in my life right after surgery, but I think cause I was in the hospital for 3 days and no shower and forgot to bring deo took about a week to get under control. Maybe just the physical changes cause the oders

I had kidney stones 1 week out after surgery. My urologist said I definitely had the stones in my kidneys, but the stress from surgery could have helped release one. I to had the black specs, followed by me passing a 6 mm stone! It could be some very tiny stones that are breaking up as they come down to the bladder. If they are be thankful your not in pain.

Help ate Low fat cottage cheese 5 days out
JP69 replied to Yiraini01's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine was the same Justsleeveit . Gosh I wish these Drs would all be on the same bandwagon. I was on full liquids on day three, which included cottage cheese, yogurt, , applesauce, strained soups. At my two week checkup he put me on stage three which was soft foods. Like tuna, salmon, mashed potatoes, plus all the other stuff on my full l. Liquid. I also eat chicken, really cooked veggies, as long as I chew food really good I am 5 1/2 weeks out and I just made Swedish meatballs with ground turkey . I ate two and 1/4 cup really cooked zucchini. Yum:) -
Oh no... Getting Sleeved while on my period
JP69 replied to Bree's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Mine started day of surgery. They will give you these net panties, and nice big thick pads that they use in the maternity ward. The nurses are very used to it and they will help you. You'll be able to go to bathroom and keep yourself clean. As for cramps you might not feel much cause of the pain meds Good luck:) you'll be fine its really no big deal to them.. -
