I was about three weeks out and was cutting up fresh sourdough at work and totally forgot about my sleeve and popped a piece in my mouth! I admit I had a little panic attack, but I survived. Just goes to show you we still have those automatic impulses that are hard to change after years of just eating anything.

Red incision a month and a week (Monday) out?
JP69 replied to Evolving's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 2 1/2 months and mine are still a red color, but they are all healed. Nothing more you can do besides the neo, and keep it dry, don't put bandages on it. If it starts to look worse you can go to your PCP and they will prescribe antibiotics. That's from my Dr. Course once again each Dr is diff. -

JP69 replied to Aamiee's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Wow! You look great. I can't believe how much younger people look after they lose some of the weight. Keep up the good work:) -
I am 10 weeks and have had a few bites with some of my foods. Esp. Curry chicken. I only allow a few bites though and its satisfying. I tried it at 9 week's.

JP69 replied to jenniferg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try some refried beans for protein, you might tolerate it better than meats for the moment. I am 10 weeks and I get that sharp pain every now and then when I eat to fast. -

How long for this stall?
JP69 replied to shakur154's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I thought I was having a stall at 8 weeks. So I didn't weigh myself for a week. ( very hard to do) but I ended up going down a pant size, so I lost it somewhere:) -

Go into your profile page, click on surgery, change weight etc, your ticker will automatically update. -
I made refrigerator soup during my soup time. Every veg I could find , throw on stock pot and cook till super soft, then run through a blender. Also I like just a cup of chicken broth, but you have to use a really good chicken base. Not those stupid bullion cubes.

Sleeved Twice - My Story
JP69 replied to Canadasleever's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Wow, what s story. So sorry you had to go through surgery twice:( Thanks for putting your story out there. People that haven't been sleeved yet, whether your private or self pd. Check and double check your Dr! Most have a history and success rate, don't be afraid to ask lots of questions. I sure did. I even made my Dr uncomfortable at times with all my questions, but I found out everything I needed to know to have a successful surgery -
My yogurt shop has one yogurt on hand that is mainly for diabetics, its sugar free, and its pretty darn good, they rotate the flavor so you can try different tastes.

Everything in moderation;)

Good luck! Hope all goes well:)

I like to have frozen fish on hand that is individually pkg. Like Costco sells. Salmon and talipia are good. I just made sauteed brussel sprout with garlic. You chop up the brussels, and them talipia which I cook in my toaster oven with some lemon pepper and right before it was finished I put some pesto on top! Very yummy:)

I purged my closet one last time! I was keeping stuff for that just in case moment. But ya know that's not a very positive way to think. I now think hell no I am never getting back in those clothes again! I was sleeved Jan. 14th2013, and I went from size 26/28 shirts(cause I liked them to cover my belly) and 18/20 pants, to Xl or 1X shirt, and size 10 jeans! I can't believe how quickly my body is shrinking:) I thought I was stalling, but then I went down two pant sizes, so you just can't go on weight loss alone:)
-
I could have gone back to work early, but glad I took 3 weeks, cause one day I would be fine and then the next day I would be so bloody exhausted. By the middle of the third week I was ready to go back to work. You have to remember those first few weeks you can barely eat a thing. Your not getting a lot of nutrients, some can't even handle. vitamins. Just take your time and don't push yourself, especially if you do have to go back to work early.

It does shrink:) not sure how much as I'm not quite there yet, but I feel a lot more bones down there than I have in along time:)

I just tried lettuce, wrapped it around a thin hamburger party with tomato. Just like protein style burger at In&Out. Cut in 4 and ate half. Had no problems. Think I will try a side salad tomorrow:) I am almost 10 weeks.
-
Also some people wear on a chain around neck until they finish losing. ine are so loose too, fortunately I have my grandmothers rings and she had tiny fingers so I am wearing hers on ring finger when I go out:)

Had mine done on the 14th how often do you eat?
JP69 replied to rhondanell81's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I eat a yogurt, or egg for breakfast. A piece of string or babybell cheese with a couple crackers for snack. A protein shake or tuna salad, chicken salad, for Lunch, and 3oz salmon, chicken, or pork, with a couple bites of broccoli, brussel sprouts, or other veggies for dinner. And maybe a slim creation fudge bar for snack after dinner:) -
Any okay tasting protein shakes?
JP69 replied to Determined_Me's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I've tried so many before my surgery and after, untill I finally broke down and bought premier. For some reason I thought I would make the powders taste better by blending them on blender for a more shake consistency. I was wrong! I freeze premier shakes till just icy. Yum. -
Yes its normal. Gas and air are the #1 causes. Mine makes noises all the time and I'm almost ten weeks.

Physical limits after surgery
JP69 replied to HoseDragger's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everyone's best bet is to carry a few protein bars at all times. They wrk great for those missed meals! You'd be surprised how full you get on one:)
