try a protien shake, it might feel more satisfying and give you more flavor. Hang in there it does get better each day. The liquid part is the worse, once your on soft food you will think you've died and gone to heaven:)

1 year out....6 months of stall
JP69 replied to kelliecalgary's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Sorry to hear you've been stalling. We all do at some point, some more or longer than others. Its time for you to get back to basics! Revert back to the beginning, high protien lots of water, lowfat you know the drill. Dont terhink you've fail. You have already lost an extreme amount of weight, so you know have the tools to start losing again:) Get back on track, start making better choices, you can do it, you've already proven that by the weight you have lost:) Good luck and have faith. -
It happens in a blink! About two weeks out you'll be able to drinl water a little more like normal:) Dont worry you did not stretch sleeve. Everyone has different levels off swelling on inside, as it goes down you will be able to dr

JP69 replied to diana89131's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
yes, I agree with Daydra, when i first started this journey aftet surgery i just walked twice a day for 1/2 hr. Didnt hit the gym untill i was out a couple months. Now at six months I'm back to just walking with weight because my arthritous is acting up in my knee, and the weight is still coming off:-) -

If your doing everything you say, trust me it will come off. Every body is so different just be patient it will start melt off. plus you may be working out really hard and gaining muscle or storing water where your fat cells used to be. Hang in there youll see results soon. -
Same problem here:( Unfortunately there is not much to do except surgery. Doing weights and excercise will tighten up the muscle on top and it leaves the skin hanging. That skin if pretty bad will not go back. and surgery does leave pretty bad scares. Dont let some sagging skin get you down, my arms are half the size they were and i am so proud! I have been wearing sleeveless when its extremly hot and i just dont think about the skin. its a small price to pay to have lost all this weight and feel good. Embrace it if you can

yep, i cant handle the huge calcium citrate! plus i had kidney stones two weeks after surgery so im afraid to take it. Just haf my six month check in, and my first labs done, everything was fine including calcium, but my iron was way below which wasnt surprising cause i tend to br anemic. as for looking at your goals, you will for sure meet your goal of 155! We are close in weight and i am at 158 and still losing even though very slowly its still coming off:) Good luck!

I had a reduction done about 15 years ago, it was the best thing I ever did! Now with weightloss surgery life couldn't be better. You will be very happy with the results when your all healed. Best of luck

When was your surgery? You look awesome! When you say you lose slowly, how slow? I am 6 months out and down 76#, but the last month has been soooo slow. I am 159 and have only lost about 5 or six pounds in the 6 weeks or so. I set a goal of 140, but not sure if I'll get there at this rate.

I did well with all meats, chicken, and fishes. They do say to wait to eat red meat because it is a lot richer and more fibrous. Just be patient and stick with what works. By 6 months you should be closer to being able to eat what you want. Good luck:)

I was told not to use straws to, but sometimes I forget and use them with no problems. As for soda it won't hurt you as in pain, but if it is a trigger just try to stay away.

Have not been on in a while.
JP69 replied to Rycherchick's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Your feeling just like me! I have also been absent for awhile, me too enjoying life , buying new clothes etc.. I am down 75# since October. 50 since surgery in Jan. Wearing xl shirts, but size 6 pants! I am losing very slow right now , but like you I am h happy. Congrats on your weightloss:) keep on going. -
How many of you have lost hair?
JP69 replied to GirlOnFire's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine just started a few weeks ago, and I am almost 4 months. Normally I shed a loose handful every morning. It had doubled to a big handful, but not in clumps. I hope it doesnt last to long. -

I have noticed I am squinting more? -
Okay I thought I was safe, I'm almost 4 months, dueing great, can eat pretty much anything with no problems. Then two weeks ago it happened! My hair started coming out. My question is how long does it keep falling out? And how much do you actually lose? Seems like so much is coming out. And just when I am starting to look and feel really good. If this keeps up all my drains will be completely clogged. Please give me answers... I will end up pretty depressed if this continues. How will I go out in public:(

You are about the same starting weight as me. I lost 20# before surgery, and now I am down about 44# since surgery. Total if 65# since I began this journey in Oct. 2012. You are on the lower end of the scale so we don't loose as quickly as someone who weighs much more than you. I am losing only 1/2 to 1# a week. Sometimes nothing for two weeks, but it has still been coming off little by little and no gaining. You also loose inches instead of weight, I am down from an 18 to an 8! I still have 29# to go. It will come off just give it time. P.S. I am not the best excersizer:)
-
@ cowgirl Jane, you look fantastic. A totally different looking women. I agree its worth the extra skin. You have lost lots and u look really good in your clothes. I have lost 65# and have loose skin on arms and stomach and I think o look great in my clothes. Lucky for me my husband loves me skinny, fat, loose skin and all. Thank God, cause I can't.. afford. Just went to my three month meeting with Nut. and she said you are way more fertile after surgery and to use extra precautions! Don't chance it!
-
Just went to my 3 month checkin/ support meeting with a group of people that were sleeved around the same time. The nut said that anything below 700 or 800 was to low. 800 -1000 were good to stay within. I wonder if that's why I slowed down cause its hard some days to get in all my calories.

I agree, next to chobani, dannon Greek is the best. Way less calories than chobani. And taste great! I did just see a commercial for activia Greek yogurt. Not sure how that one is.

Does swallowing get easier?
JP69 replied to ktmac26's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes it does, just drink a little slower. I still forget sometimes and drink to fast and get that ten second stabbing pain. -
I cannot believe what I'm doing...don't I get it?
JP69 replied to AdiosPlusSizes's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everyones right, its not the fact that you cheated, its very very dangerous for you at this stage! You dont want to end up back on the operating table with a leak or infection. It's hard I know, I am craving junk that I never even ate much of. Now I feel like I could eat ten pounds of certain things. We just have to turn it off in our heads, eat something satisfying and healthy it will help to fill up on good food, especially cause it doesnt take much to fill us. Good luck, you can do it:)
