JP69 replied to rxkid2384's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
You would also know very quickly if u had a leak! U will be fine just try and stick to your Drs orders. Each Dr is very different:) -
This morning I was getting ready for work, and I looked down and was bleeding. Three of my incisions have all healed, and the last two which were the bigger ones had hard scabs on them. The bleeding came from underneath the scab and I could see a hole!. Dr said to just put neosporin on it and keep it dry. Anyone else had this happen if so how long will it take to heal?

JP69 replied to miiszsexy171's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I went about 7 days then I did a dulcolax suppository. Within 15 minutes I had two good ones. After that I found gummy Fiber and I chew two every night. Now I go about every 3 or 4 days:) -
I tried a lot of protein drinks before I landed on premier, o won't go to anything else now.. Some people have to use the isolate cause it might be easier on their stomachs. It has 30 grams of protein so I will continue with it I am 4 weeks post op

5 Weeks Post-OP Still Teaching Myself to Eat Slowly
JP69 commented on joatsaint's blog entry in Gastric Sleeve Surgery - An Unexpected Journey
I have been eating mostly different kinds of fish with lots of lemons! It's my fav. But it taste so good I too find myself eating to fast, then it feels like it sits on top of the stomach for an hour. Will we retrain ourselves to eventually slow down? I hope it becomes habit soon. I am on my fourth week and can pretty much eatdo everything i have tried so far. I just need to slow it down. -
by no means is this easy but gets better.

I am on my 4th week and yes it was rough the first week and a half. Each person is different, but it does get better. I do feel hungry of I wait to long to eat a bite or two. It doesn't take much. Now I am having fun cooking new things for dinner. Good luck and hope the crappy part passes quickly for ya:) -
I am making those as I speak:)

My toaster oven has been awesome! It's great for us sleevers who can only eat 2oz of protein. It's perfect for that little piece of fish, chicken, scallops, turkey burger etc.... I am sure I can even cook the infamous ricotta bake:)
-
I'm for sure making those!

It's just so quick and convenient. My meals r done in 10- 15min!

Size 30 Jeans! Maybe this doesn't sound good to you, but...
JP69 replied to honeymunki's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It doesn't matter what size u are, it feels GREAT to be losing this weight period. I found three pair of jeans from along time ago, and they are the only ones that fit, and they are getting baggier each passing day! Congrats and keep up the good work:) -
Yum yum. And can u eat olives at1 month?. I seem to have no problem with anything I have tried so far.
-
Those look good, did u bake those?
-
It's true about 5 - 7 weeks out u can try new foods. I made a huge turkey chili for SUPERBOWL and I had a 1/4 of that and thought I died and went to heaven:) also have been making all kinds of baked fish in the toaster oven. I have tried chicken to with no problem. I love chicken salad. So just try something different each day and stick with what works. The key is to eat slow and chew real good. It won't be 5 months don't worry:)

Great job! I am almost there too:)

Before/After Pictures - 5 months out!
JP69 replied to jbgirl5856's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You look awesome! I was about the same starting weight 4 months before surgery Now I am down to 194 and counting. Thanks for sharing:) -
I am 3 weeks out and I'm feeling great, eating mostly soft, moist foods. Tonight I had baked Tilapia. 2 oz and a few brocolli sprigs and thought it was a feast! My incisions have pretty much healed, and every food I've tried has given me no problems. Everyday I put on my jeans and there loser:) I have lost16# since I was sleeved. Just wanted to express myself cause I feel real good. To everyone just having surgery my first week was rough, but after that it was all downhill. Be strong and hang in there and you'll reap the rewards:) Thanks for listening to me rant...

Yes rashes and yeast infections.

The bad news is the skin if its really stretched the chances are slim it won't go back. Doing weights will definitely build muscle, but it builds it under the layer of loose skin. Surgery is the only way to remove most of the extra skin.

It hurts my stamach when i drink water
JP69 replied to MLCT's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't worry you probably have more swelling inside than some people. Everyday it will get easier just hang in there and sip what you can. Also I drank a lot of green tea my first week and chicken broth, that also counts as liquid! -
Gosh great ideas! Refried beans with salsa is and a sprig of LF cheese has been a fav of mine . Also try the ricotta bake. The recipe is in the forum under recipes. There you will also find more ideas:)

BMI 41 no comorbids...what are the odds?
JP69 replied to Emilee68's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Most of the requirements are 40 BMI or higher. You should be okay as long as you don't lose weight, and can maintain your BMI till approved. You should be good. Mine was 41, but I have Kaiser and it was simple.
