Seriously, you can't fix stupid
Deanne replied to NtvTxn's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
This group use to be supportive of others but lately it seems there is a lot of name calling. I feel bad for the new ones just joining to see all the negative responses and name calling. Why can't you just respect that others will have different opinions and leave it at that without calling them stupid. I for one am tired of logging in here and reading nothing but negative thoughts. Time for me to find another group that is more supportive. Good Luck -
Seriously, you can't fix stupid
Deanne replied to NtvTxn's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I still have a root beer now and then. I love the flavor. It's diet and my Nut said to stir the carbonation out of it. I've given up so many other things I've enjoyed but if I can continue to enjoy root beer this way I will. -
finding the right amount of calories to lose 1-2 LBS a week
Deanne replied to kellimcc's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had my surgery done on Jan 30th and I'm lucky to get in 5 or 600 calories a day. I can only eat a few bites before I'm too full. Maybe your getting to many calories too soon -
PLEASE HELP not getting any protien in... All i want is something icy
Deanne replied to Srios's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I used the protein powder before my surgery but couldn't stomach it after so switched to premiere protein shakes from Costco. Already mixed. The powdered ones when mixed in the blender became to foamy thus filling me up way to quick before any liquid. I add ice to my protein drinks. I hope you find some protein because you really need it. -
I'm 2 1/2 months out and can only eat maybe 3 teaspoons of food before I am full, sometimes too full and am in pain.

Post-Op Taste Change Question
Deanne replied to Khloé's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I noticed a big change in flavor in the things I use to love but it makes it that much easier not to want to eat them now. Water still hurts going down even if I flavor it. I drink the premiere protein drinks from Costco to get the max amount of protein in 11 ounces. 2 a day gives me what I need. -
My nut told me if I wanted to drink diet sodas to stir the carbonation out first. Your stomach isn't as big so there is no place for the bubbles to go but up and she said some foam at the mouth.

I cannot believe what I'm doing...don't I get it?
Deanne replied to AdiosPlusSizes's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was only a few days out when my son brought donuts home and I just couldn't resist, I cut off a tiny piece and ate it and it hurt so it stopped me from eating anymore. But I totally understand, I get cravings for food that I've not had in awhile and want to eat it. I usually end up just tasting it for the flavor cause I know it's going to hurt. I'm 2 months out now and only drinking protein drinks and munching on whole wheat crackers when I need something crunchy, Not sure if they are good for me but they make me feel better. -
I am almost 2 months out and everything I eat makes me nauseous. I bought some over the counter medicine for it. If it gets worse I'll be calling my Doctor as well. Guess it only happens to some of us. Hope you find out what is causing it.

Truth about carbonation
Deanne replied to whitneymalae's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My Nut explained to me that since our stomachs are so small there is no where for the bubbles to go but up and out. She said some people seem to foam at the mouth as the bubbles try to escape. When I was sick and craved 7-Up she suggested I stir the carbonation out of it. I did and it didn't bother me. Not sure if I'm ready to try it without the stirring. lol -
post op stall
Deanne replied to sastexan4u@yahoo.com's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just ride it out..I went through the same thing after 2 weeks, I was getting depressed then talked to my Nut and she said that was normal, and not to worry about it. I started losing again when I was 4 weeks. -

Am I the only Nevada Sleever??
Deanne replied to Neoteric Verve's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi, I'm in Reno, and was sleeved on Jan 30th 2013. It's nice to know there are others close by -
I'm right there with you, I'm 59 hmmm could it be our age?..lol I am 4 weeks out too. My Doctor said it could be awhile for me to get my energy back so I'm not going to worry about it. Ask your Doctor and see what he says.

I know what you are going through, My son and his wife live with me and she is thin and can eat anything so she is always making pizza and bacon and eggs and the scent manages to make it to my bedroom and drives me nuts. lol. My son brought home doughnuts and she bakes cakes and cookies with no regard to my feelings.. sighh But I decided to rent them my home and I'll look for an apartment. Guess being married you can't do that.. Good Luck..

When you don't drink enough liquids your urine has a strong scent to it and very dark. Drink more liquids. I know it's hard cause I have that problem too. Seems nothing tastes as it did before the surgery so it's a fight for me to get liquids down. Try the Premier protein drinks from Costco. Each has 30 grams of protein so you don't need as many. Plus they taste great

Would you have paid without insurance coverage?
Deanne replied to Houston17's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would have had to wait several years if I wanted my insurance to cover it so I paid for it myself, but if it gives me energy and the ability to play with my grandaughter then it is well worth it. Being 1 month out, I'm not there yet..lol -
Did anyone stall out at around 3 weeks post op?
Deanne replied to dinaforeman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This has been my concern, I stalled at 3 weeks and have been worried that things weren't working right but reading all these comments on it has helped me. I am 4 weeks out now. Glad to know it gets better.. -
A few post op questions
Deanne replied to InMyNext30Years!'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use to get several pains, now I've figured out what each are and one for sure is hunger pains. When I get them I eat some greek yogurt or sip some cream of rice, doesn't take much to fill me up. I get horrible pains when I swallow water or juices. I am 1 1/2 weeks out from surgery. I still can't get all the pills I"m suppose to take down. 11 to be exact. I see the Dr in a few days so will see what he has to say. Congrats on the weight loss -
Sip pain medicane . Yuck!
Deanne replied to staffieri's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I dealt with the pain, drinking it made me sick to my stomach even when I ate something first to coat my stomach. Others have suggested Tylenol 3 if your Dr will allow it. -
headache,heartburn and hunger
Deanne replied to Rycherchick's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't get hungry before surgery but now I do, guess it's because I can't seem to put anything solid down. 2nd week out and can still only do liquids. -
1 week post op before and after pic
Deanne replied to LifetimeLoser's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use my grandaughters baby spoons too, makes me more aware that I have to swallow less at a time. Guess I should use her sippy cup too as I still forget to take sips when drinking out of my normal glass lol -

8 days post op. feeling good. feeling hungry. questions about food options please help thanks
Deanne replied to rxkid2384's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I tried scrambled eggs this morning and thought my stomach was on fire. But it does for anything I swallow. I can't seem to find anything that doesn't hurt. I'm so exhausted and upset cause it hurts so much. When the pain hits I just wish someone would shoot me and put me out of my misery. I tried chicken broth last night and the same thing happened. I don't know what to do. But I hope it all works out for you... -
