  1. I am recently sleeved-officially 1 week and 1 day today! I know plenty of bypass people but few sleevers. So it is hard to find folks to talk to who share my experience and I have questions. I have run several scenarios through my mind and just wonder if my sleeve is acting 'normally', or at least like someone elses. I have heard of people who say they feel full after 1 or 2 oz of liquid or water. I sip all the time to get in my proteins and liquids. I have noticed that I 'feel' protein drinks more than water or sugar free drinks. I guess it is because the protein drinks are heavier? Anyway, I feel when it passes through my stomach. That's when I know I have taken too big of a swallow. But I can usually feel the protein with an average sip. But once it moves through I can sip again. It takes a while to get everything down. I nurse a protein shake for several hours. But water seems to go right down. I don't feel discomfort. I don't get 'full'. So I guess everything is okay. I am just wondering how other sleevers 'feel'?

    Hello everyone! I'm new here!

Hi Beth, I got my surgery exactly 1 day before you. I have not had any problems with pain. I have done some walking but I really made an effort to pace myself. A lot of folks say they experience fatigue and I didn't want to push. I walked about 40 minutes the other day. I experienced some nausea a couple of days after my surgery, but I think it had more to do with the anesthesia than the surgery. Any extraneous pain I have felt has been moving gas. The walking helps with that a lot. Congrats on your progress!

    How does yours feel?

Wow! A pudding cup! I look forward to the day when I can do that. They say I can have sugar free jello. I have not managed that one. It just felt bad going down. I am doing the great with the liquids though!

    Number 2?

This is not the most pleasant topic to discuss. But I am curious to know other's experience. I am 1 week and 1 day post op. I have only had 1 BM since my surgery. I was very happy about that one because I thought it meant that my system was awake and doing it's thing. Since then there has been nothing. I am wondering if this is because of the liquid diet. Has this been anyone elses experience?

Hi Traci, Thanks for the insight and the advice. I find myself sipping all day. After several hours I finally finish something. Of course I am still at home and have the luxury of doing that. I was told I could count all my liquids towards my 64 oz.. Dehydration is a huge concern for me as I know this is an easy way to end up back in the hospital. This was my first hospital stay and surgery in 43 years. I have no desire to go back anytime soon. Thank you for reaching out to me. Congratulations on your success!
