    So sick

Stomach bug? It's pretty wicked this season.
  2. Love this! My surgery isn't for a few more months, but my doctor requires a 3 week pre-op diet that I'm dreadinggg

Frustrated by the NUTs hard sells

I don't like my nut either. At least I only had to see him once. He kept trying to talk me out of surgery, and tried to sell me medifast. Is there anyway you can switch?
  4. I've heard it a few times. Is it like dumping? Can it be avoided?
  5. Probably not too related, but I had severe morning sickness with my last son. I was prescribed reglan and zofran but it did nothing. Then they gave me a zofran injection which was awesome! It just sucked because I had to go get the shot once a day which was a hassle, but worth it! Maybe ask about that
  6. A hospital can't turn you down because you have no money. When my husband and I first got married and we were dirt poor with no insurance, they still took me. Got billed a nice hefty $500, but I was treated lol.
  7. How common is it? Are there certain exercises to prevent it? I had two pregnancies close together to my stomach looks like a saggy deflated balloon (sorry for the horrible image lol) and I'm nervous that I'll have a lot on skin for this reason. I'm 23 if that matters.
  8. That's amazing!! Do you have before/after pics? What was your starting weight? If you don't mind sharing. I love success stories!
  9. Sorry, I know I post a lot. I'm a stay at home mom and you guys are like the only adult contact I get lol! But does everyone vomit? Are there ways to prevent it? I have a serious phobia of it, and it is actually the only reason I've ever second guessed wanting this surgery.

    Does everyone vomit post-op?

I'm done having kids. We have 2 boys (3 and 8 months) and that's enough for us. Both of my in laws had the bad with horrible results. Never lost the weight, constantly had food get stuck, always sick. My friend and uncle got the sleeve with awesome results.

    Does everyone vomit post-op?

Thanks for the honesty. I've had 2 csections and vomited after each because of the morphine. So I'm almost expecting to get sick after surgery. I hope I don't bust a staple or something. That makes me nervous too.

    Does everyone vomit post-op?

Thanks! I had zofran when I was pregnant with morning sickness, and I know morphine makes me sick. I'm hoping they can use something other then morphine! I'd rather feel pain then nausea lol

    Cardiac Clearance

Awesome!! They dd have me do the 24 hour monitor and he has me taking a stress test in a few weeks
  14. I'm a veryyyyy fast eater! I am a stay at home mom of two very active kids. I'm lucky if I can scarf down something in 5 min. What I'm trying to do is use my sons baby utensils so I take smaller bites, and I put my fork down after every single bite. I try to sing the happy birthday song before taking another bite lol! But my biggest challenge is not drinking while I eat. I've yet to get out of that habit

    Pre-Op Second Thoughts

Im sorry for your loss, but I know how you feel. My great uncle went into the hospital for a heart attack and ended up dying of staph. Those instances are very rare and unfortunate. It's best to trust in your doctors, and if your religious, trust in god. You'll do just fine!

    Wife isn't supportive

I'm a stay at home mom and my husband works a very hard and long work week. We make meal planning fun! I go on Pinterest, or other sites to scope out new recipes. Then we both go grocery shopping on Sunday for everything for the week. Then we spend the next few hours (usually about 6 hours) prepping meals for the week. Then You throw them in a ziplock bag and in the freezer until you need them. Crock pot meals are little to no effort for your wife and can make a meal that's lasts for a few days. For instance, on Monday, throw a whole chicken (seasoned to taste) in the crock pot, then make either chicken Soup or chicken salad or something like that for the day after. Also, like others said, maybe it's not the extra work that's really bothering her. Maybe she's afraid and doesn't k ow how to show it, or she's afraid once you get thin you'll leave her. Either way, talk it out. Sorry for typos! I'm currently wrangling a 3 year old and 8 month old lol
  17. Thank you. No, I've never been tested for this stuff. To be honest, I haven't been to a doctor in about 5 years (except an OB when pregnant). I'm just hoping this stuff gets resolved and doesn't interfere with my surgery. I just started a 6 mont waiting period, so I have until June to straighten all this out.

surgery tomorrow 9 am! Jan 16.

I'm sorry this is happening to you . I had a similar experience but with my csection incision. It does suck, but it will heal!! Make sure you follow all of the doctors directions and you will heal ok.
  19. Went to the cardiologist for clearance a d after all tests he said I have tachacardya. I knew my heartbeat was faster then normal (resting hb is around 115 bpm), but I didn't know it was a problem. The doctor seemed pretty troubled by it and asked when my surgery was (I just started my 6 month waiting period). When I asked about my sleeve surgery, he wouldn't give me a clear answer. Yesterday, he set me up with one of those heart monitors to wear for 24 hours and He ordered a stress test in 4 weeks, and the to come back to the office 2 weeks after. Anyone have to deal with this? Did it affect your sleeve surgery? Oh, and sorry for typos.. I'm trying to cook dinner and wrangle two kids! Lol
