Relationship issues after surgery?
JessicaAnn replied to Dreamingofhealth's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can't imagine ever wanting to stray from my husband. He's in perfect shape. 6' 185lbs and very good looking. If he's still with me and in love with me now when I'm 5'3" 280lbs, I can only see our love and attraction growing. At least I hope. -
My uncle was sleeved about 18months ago and he lost 90lbs in the first 8 months. Then he maintained for a while, and in the last 6 months he's gained about 15 back. I just read a thread where someone that's 2-3 years out can still only eat 1 cup of food. I've seen my uncle eat an entire hero (bread and all), a couple of rolls of sushi, entire bagel with full fat cream cheese, and soda. I'm sure there's more I'm just not remembering. I thought that the stomach couldn't really be stretched. Would he have to make a conscious effort to push past the point of full? I don't want to be rude and ask him. I'm just worried because now, pre op, I'm constantly hungry. I just worry that once I heal, maybe a year or two out, that the hunger will come back. If I just follow the post op diet will my new stomach stay small? My biggest fear is going through all of this and the surgery not "work". Thanks for reading my ramble..

How is this possible?
JessicaAnn replied to JessicaAnn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did refer him to this app. I told him there are tons of "vets" here. He's very much an emotional eater and my grandma (his mom) was very sick the past few months and passed away last week. He's always had poor habits, but I know stress makes it worse for him. I guess it's just a good example that this surgery truly is just a tool, and by no means a quick fix -

Down a mysterious 6 pounds?! I'll take it!

Is diet soda the same? I mean, I always thought since there were no calories or fat or anything that I was free to drink it as I want. If I gave it up would I lose weight too? -
Help me pick out an outfit

Love the dress! I'd definitely add some color with bright heels or chunky costume jewelry. I'm personally not a fan of stockings, but I'd wear nude color instead of black. -

What's a milk bath? Is that a product? Or actual milk in a bath lol -
How long after surgery did you resume your birth control pills?

What about nuvaring? That's what I'm on. Do I have to take that out for surgery? I'm still a few months before surgery. -
Don't you have to pass gas or have a bowel movement before they let you leave the hospital? I'm still pre-op but for both of my csections they told me I couldn't leave until I at least passed gas.

OMG! Took binder off and almost passed out from pain

Maybe this sounds gross, but wait until he gets home? Unless you HAVE to go somewhere, then just stay at home and shower at night when your husband gets back. -
Numbness on my belly. Yuck!
JessicaAnn replied to LG1981's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've had 2 csections and I'm still numb an inch above and below the incision line -
I'm still pre-op, but I figured you guys would know better. I had my psych eval today and she asked me what my weight loss goal was. I'm 5'3" and 280. I told her I'd like to get down to 150. She explained to me that I have to be more realistic, and that 95% of people don't lose 100% of their excess body weight. She also said that most sleeve patients will always be slightly overweight. Is this true? I'm looking to get down go my goal, but now I feel discouraged that I never will. Opinions? Experience?

Weight loss goals
JessicaAnn replied to JessicaAnn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
She did ask why I wanted to lose weight and how much. I said I just want to be healthy. Then she asked how many lbs I wanted to lose. It didn't help that she was a twig *eye roll* -

what is the best birth control method
JessicaAnn replied to Yiraini01's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
LOVE the nuvaring. I'm allergic to the pill, but I've used the nuvaring for 7 years with no issues! I've also been able to conceive the month after taking it out both times. I also like the option of being able to leave it in the fourth week to skip my period. I did that the week of my honeymoon. -
I'm hoping I'll be able to move around a lot. I have two young kids an my husband works long hours. He can't take off more then 2 days! So I'm nervous.

This sucks! I hope they can still do surgery.
JessicaAnn posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started this process with no health issues what so ever. The only issue was my BMI. Now, my GI found h pylori, my cardiologist found tachacardya (sp?), and now my pulmonologist found that I have asthma and is sending me to be tested for RA, thyroid disease, and lung disease!! I want this surgery soooooo badly. Does anyone have these issues and still able to have surgery?? Oh, and sorry for the vent -
Anyone from Long Island, NY?

That's my moms doctor!! I go with her to her weigh ins. Very nice people too. The only reason I did t use him was because he didn't accept my insurance. -

Seriously doubting that i should get the sleeve right now
JessicaAnn replied to Nicole Chavez's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon does the initial consult and then meets with me before the surgery for last min questions. I don't think your doubting the surgery, as much as your surgeon. See if you can do some more research, talk to his past patients while your in the office.
