    Who has actually reached goal?

Thanks everyone! I love reading your responses! Im starting at 290 at 5'3" and I'd loveeeeee to get down to 130. My nutritionist said its never going to happen. He's a jerk though, and very against surgery. I'm just nervous that no matter how strict I am I won't lose it, but you all give me hope!!

    Nutritionist

My nutritionist sucked. He basically kept trying to sell me medifast shakes and told me that surgery wasn't the way to lose weight. I just yesed him to death so he'd write my approval letter.

    AVOCADO?

I just slice them and put some garlic powder and lemon juice ontop
  8. Not really about the surgery itself. I have full trust in my surgeon. I'm nervous about how I'll feel waking up, how the first few days will be, about leaks and complications, about getting in all my fluids and Protein, about failing, about regretting everything. This is a permanent decision, and I've done years of research (probably too much research), but I still find myself getting that butterfly/queasy feeling whenever I think about how close it is. pre op diet starts in 8 days, and surgery is July 3rd. Not really much of a point to this, I just need to get my feelings out to people who are going through it. My husband just keeps telling me to relax, but he's naturally fit with no effort and doesn't really understand.

    Calling all Long Islanders :)

He does 2 week pre op liquid diet. They encourage you to buy their shakes but they taste bad and are expensive lol. Also he only does surgery on Wednesday. 1 week before surgery you go to st. Charles for pre op testing and a mandatory educational class. About 4 hours all together. Then after pre op testing, you have to have your results faxed to your PCP where you will go for final clearance Edit: the liquid diet is 4 shakes per day, unlimited Clear Liquids, and one serving of either low carb yogurt or skim milk.

    Calling all Long Islanders :)

My surgery is July 3rd! But he is absolutely amazing. He did my endoscopy too, so I got a sense of his bedside manor, and I couldn't be happier with him!

    never lost weight

I've always worried about this too. I've failed every diet attempt, so I'm afraid ill fail at this too. But I've done sooo much research and realized that as long as you follow the basic rules, you WILL succeed
