Things to be excited for when I get fit and healthy

You have goals, and I think that's really an important thing, knowing what you are working towards! I have two sons, 9 & 11, and it sucks that I cant run with them because all the weight in my stomach bears down so heavily on my knees. I cant really ride a bike comfortably either, and i desperately want to start biking, as well as kayaking (much moreso than I want to run). I'll tell you what, trying to put an end to habit/comfort eating is just as hard as quitting smoking!

    Completely frustrated.

Castiel, Angel (Hey, two Angels!), with all of the people I know who've had the surgery, it seems like it just takes time to get to that goal. I think you have to be patient, and talk to your doctor about your concerns. Do y'all have a support group you could go to? maybe others in your area are having the same difficulties. I wish I had some other advice that wasn't weak, but Im still pre-op, waiting for an insurance appeal.

    Hypothyroids & Weightloss

I have hypothyroidism, and was told by my Doctor that all the medications I am on (High blod presure etc), save for my levoxyl would go away after my surgery. he said I would always be on levoxyl, and that it wouldnot hinder my weight loss whatsoever.

    36 and concerned

Hi Carlos! Your story sounds alot like mine. i'm 6,1.5 (I was 6,3 before I had a ruptured disc removed 2 years ago), and I topped out a month ago at 300. I tried the gym thing too, tried riding a bike and even running,. i can lose 20 pounds fast, but it always creeps back up on me.I hate the incredulous looks and questions I get from people; "Why surgery? You're not fat!" Umm, pardon me, thanks for the compliment and everything, but if you saw me in nothing but a pair of gym shorts, you'd change your mind. I've been told 6 weeks is standard. I do heavy lifting with my job, and my Doctor told me the only way I could go back to work after 3 weeks was if I would definitely NOT be doing any lifting at all. I dont really want the surgery so much for myself, as I do for my family. I'm only 48, I dont want to get sick, have a heart attack etc any time soon. I want to see my sons grow up, and have their own little kids, who'll look at me one day and call me PawPaw.

    Just approved!

GNC Cookies and Cream whey is one of the best. Try the vanilla, and add some of that orange drink Water flavoring to make a creamsicle shake. I always try to mix them up during the day, so I dont get just tired of one flavor. Good luck! I was supposed to have mine this past Monday, but at the last minute my insurance got messed up so I'm waiting for clearance.
