Broke my stall, decided to weigh in only once a week
serenafish commented on BigDaddyJoe's blog entry in My journey
yep, yep I started doing the scales every 7 days and I find a lot more peace of mind I broke my stall by eating a bite of something every 3 hours, a nut, a jello, a pork skin, a mouthful of soup, little and often! -
wow stunning, you have done amazing WTG!!! you give me hope

Confession Time: The Spaghetti Monster Almost Got ME!
serenafish commented on joatsaint's blog entry in Gastric Sleeve Surgery - An Unexpected Journey
you cant eat banana? -
6 weeks out for me, almost 7 and I feel the same way most of the time, sometimes after eating I feel like I have swallowed a giant stone, other times I feel like it's all going to come back up again, I dont throw up but I feel like I'm going to. Everything repeats on me. I chew everything to total much and it feels like it's stuck. eating is a pain. I'm almost never hungry, but I cant tell when I'm full cos I almost always feel full. scrambled egg and grilled chicken are getting very old. I suspect I may be eating a little to fast, but who wants to eat cold or re heated scrambled egg ew.. le sigh.

thanks for the rant, I am one month out and yesterday I made a mistake, my first ever mistake, I cried so hard last night, I was ashamed of my self. I panicked . I now understand that I am human, it IS possible to make a mistake and it's up to me to check my self or wreck my self... me and nobody else.. my mistake you ask? I smoked a boston butt for my husband, took it off the grill and picked off the fatty crispy skin and ate it... I felt soooooooo sick and soooooooooooo sorry... NEVER AGAIN. a new day, a new dawn, and I'm feeling gooood

Out with the Old, In with the New
serenafish commented on woman in me's blog entry in The Princess and the Sleeve
good luck with the H Pylori., I had that and had to get mine cleared b4 the insurance would pay for my sleeve. it actually took me 10 months and 3 sets of treatment and an emergency treatment to clear mine up, but it is not like that for most people I believe. I am allergic to penicillin and had prolly had H Pylori for years, plus we think I may of re infected my self by sharing a fork with my husband lol. You story of the car park is what made me stop and smile, I always say it will hurt the cars more then it will hurt me lol almost 40lbs down since my sleeve 3 weeks ago, I hope thats going to change for me some day soon ! -
Had my 2 week check up yesterday. The last two weeks were a little rough on me, but mostly because I put my knee out, three days b4 the operation. Getting dressed, putting socks on, silly things became a problem for me that I had not expected! I am now drinking 26oz of water a day an 8oz protein drink with 42g of protein a day Food has been odd, I have no urge to eat at all, and have been trying to force one tea spoon of apple sauce or baby food into my mouth every day, but I simply dont enjoy it. However last my my husband strongly urged me to try some scrambled egg, and I ate two tea spoons with no troubles at all, it feels a little thick going down, but it's okay. I also eat a sugar free ice pop every night, it takes me about an hour lol but it's my guilty pleasure I have lost 32lbs!!!! I am taking all my pills, you know, the biotin and iron and calcium and vits.... my bp is now perfect, pulse is coming down , hardly no hair loss... at first it was tough, but people are right it gets better every day... I get a little tired quite easy, but one step at a time!

Thanks for taking the time to type this out, your story could almost be mine, only it's been 9 days since my sleeve, but everything else, well I'm almost your twin lol I'm going to try and go back to work on Monday, but my job is pretty light. I do a few little jobs round the house each day, like make my husband a meal, or wash up, having a shower takes up most of my morning and I count that as a work out lol I'm pretty drained. I drink about 30oz of water a day and 17oz of chocolate protein if I can manage it all, but it takes me about 7 hours to drink the shake lol yesterday I had lost 22lbs, but I only stand on the scales every 3 days... I to think people expect me to turn up back at work looking like a fashion model, it's a lot of pressure for a woman struggling to get her bra on and get dressed lol today I ate some baby jar food 2 tea spoons lol yum! oops im going on sorry .

I think some people are missing the point, but I'm getting a little fed up of talking to a brick wall, I was not saying I dont want to pay for the pills, and that it's not worth the effort sheesh... One simple point of view is all I had, it has been expensive, and continues to be... In My Opinion

I'm not walking into the middle of this one, but my own personal experience (and thats all I feel qualified to comment on) it has not been cheep. but each to there own. I also have lots of foods/drinks I can not tolerate or stand or am allergic to.. I cant take fruit or lactose or soy, tons of food coloring's and the taste of ANY flavored waters are to strong and make me gag.....every single person is an individual xoxox
-
I'm with you on this one, I use isopure protein and it's $50 a large tub, I mix it wit almond milk and thats $3.50 a small carton, I had my sleeve 5 days ago and I have to take all the pills, calcium $10 centra $10, iron $10 biotin $10 galstone pills and idk loads of stuff, it all adds up, but from what I understand it wont be forever..... and remember sip sip sip lol taste changes are crazy I hated chocolate all my life, now I love it and cant stand vanilla yuck lol

My Story, I'm now 44 years old and I live in America with my fantastic american husband John, who I met when I lived in England eight years ago. I had just left my then husband of 14 years, and was struggling to raise my twin girls alone, without any help and my life was a little complex to say the least. I was also recovering from having my 3rd tumor removed, and dealing with PCOS syndrome.. My weight had been on the rise for years, but I managed to keep it slow and steady with the help of a lot of walking. Since my move to America it has just gone out of control, I thought learning to eat all the new foods would be a challenge for me, I was wrong, it was more of a challenge than I ever dreamed of. I had never heard of of so many of the foods here, and had to try them all, I was 42 when I ate my first ever waffle lol Anyway, I am here now and have learned to cope a little, but the weight has piled on and now I suffer, I should of just called my self Serena Carb Lover, le sigh.. I cant seem to loose the weight and keep it off, as I get older it is getting harder, my self respect is prolly at an all time low and I hope this operation is going to be the perfect tool to help be back on track towards a brighter slimmer me. I hope to some day take up Judo again, and to be able to buy a bra at Victoria Secrets ! I found lactose free almond milk this week, and as I am on my pre op diet I am delighted to not have stomach cramps from drinking protein shakes at long last lol every little helps. In 18 days I am due to have my VGS sugery it was a lot of testing and poking to get this far.. 6 months of weight loss check ups and downs endoscopic surgery, mammogram, well woman clinics, support groups and a bit of cash , not to mention my H-polori hell ewwwww... prolly a lot more to if I think about it but I dont want to send you to sleep reading this lol I hope to get to talk to people that have been through what I have been through as I often feel like I am shooting in the dark, should I take this, where can you get that, so many questions and no answers yikes!! I also hope that I may be of help to anyone that needs it, I dont have many answers my self, but hey if I know I will be more than happy to share... well time to hush my self up now, thank you for being here, feel free to message me... love Serena xoxox 11 more days to go and I have lost 11 pounds on my pree opp diet yikes!!!

hi Chimera, gosh yes it's a looooong process, so many things I never expected, but here I am now The Atkins part of it is not to bad ( apart from having to pee all the time) arghhh three times in the middle of the night yikes!!! chicken is my new best friend This week I have two shakes and one meal with no carb.. 6 oz of a lean meat is not a meal grrrrrrrr lol. I can have a cup of coffee with skim milk only, that I dont drink. Next week im on straight shakes no food. I dont know how im going to do next week .... my head may explode yikes lol

Hi vicki.... counting down the hours here lol Thank you for sharing some of your story, every bit helps me, the more I read the me assured I feel. You and I have the same thing going on with water too lol I only drink bottled water ( as I gave up fizzy drinks two years ago, and I also gave up caffeine at the same time) now I sprinkle a little crystal light orange into three small bottles of water a day and try to drink them, I only do two most days but have managed three on a blue moon, so I have no idea how I will manage after surgery, but im guessing if it's not killing or dehydrating me now, then it wont do it then either right? well perhaps lol head hunger is driving me totally mental, it's almost 24/7 it wont shut up, it was like that quite often b4 the diet but now it's almost like im in panic mode, the world is going to run out of food soon and if I dont eat it all I'll dieeeeeeeeeeee... it's very intense , I hope it will pass soon, I am walking a mile a day now, playing with my new puppy more and still having to work at night atm, so ur right keeping busy helps a little but arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh lol I like the isopure a lot as there is no bloating with it, but incase my tummy wont agree with me after the op I have some muscle milk light, it's also lactose free .... I'm hoping the gas wont be too bad after the op, it sounds horrific, and I dont do well on pain killers so I tend to go it alone, I will be sure to shout about it if it's toooooo bad yikes rant on... I sure do

10 days to go and I can hardly wait, I'm almost counting down the secs. My emotions are all over the place, one moment I'm jumping up and down like a child waiting for Christmas, and then five mins later I'm in a panic, wondering if I'm doing the right thing, and how much it's going to hurt, will I be able to drink enough fluids ect, then back to how great I'm going to look and how much I'm going to enjoy working out like I used to. arghhhhhhhhhhhh... I hope it's all pretty normal... I'm now on one small, healthy meal a day and two protein shakes, I spent the $50 and got the large can of isopure vanilla, and I mix it with unsweetened almond milk it was a good purchase, I love the taste, it reminds me of an old fashioned malt shake yum! Oh yes and I started walking again, I guess as they are going to make me walk in the hospital I had better get used to it so I thought I would try and get in a mile a day for starters, I made my goal today thats about it for today, the pre operation diet is driving me nuts, I'm not hungry in my stomach at all, but my head is constantly like a child screaming for food, snacks and trash im demented by it... anyone out there? anyone know what I'm going on about? and anyone got any advice? apart from telling my head to hush up lol xoxox
-
I'm new to this too, and I thank you for sharing your post, it feels good to know your not alone, and to be able to ramble on about things that may be on your mind. I am taking the isopure to, and I love it, I take the vanilla, but I like very bland food. Sounds to me like your doing great wtg
-
wtg that must be a fantastic feeling, I hope to have the same feeling some day soon... congratulations

I live in America and I am from England, I dont know anyone here, so I have nobody to talk to either, and I get on okay, if you believe in what you are doing, and it's whats right for you, have faith in your self. Having said that, mum's are often a lot of comfort and can be shocking in the things they understand, specially when they see it's something you seriously want/need, think about talking to her, it may help xoxox

as the saying goes, if liquid is all that is going in, then liquid is all that will come out.. I cant take cows milk or soy so I use almond milk, it's very yummy and lactose free!
