Any March Sleevers?
PeacockMama replied to futuresleever's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@leo you don't have a pre op diet to follow? Mine is for 10 days pre op. Low carb, low fat. Basically grilled chicken, green veggies, some citrus fruits, fish, protein shakes... -
Any March Sleevers?
PeacockMama replied to futuresleever's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
25 days for me now! I've been one week with not a drop of diet coke (or any soda). Huge huge deal for me. Im very proud of myself for that, I gotta say. I decided to quit the soda before my pre op diet. Everything at once may be too overwhelming. 5'5" @ 250 28 yrs old. I want to say to everyone worried about the pre op diet and those who wonder why its necessary...idk if your doc told you but the diet is necessary to shrink your liver. The liver in someone who over eats and eats BADLY is very large and fatty, and its in the way for surgery. It bleeds very easily and the surgeon doesn't want any risk of nicking it. You could bleed to death! Please take the pre op diet seriously. If you go for surgery they'll know if your liver has shrank or if its still (obviously) in the way and fatty. They could send you right back home. For those of us going to mexico self pay, tht would REALLY suck. Just something to picture in your head when you're on pre op diet and you feel like cheating. -
My suggestion? Cold turkey. I was drinking at LEAST 5 diet cokes a day. Most days more like 7. This was for the past 20 yrs or so. This is my 1 week mark without a drop of any soda. I had one last day of it, and said no more. Im quitting it BEFORE I start the pre op diet. Everything at once may just be too overwhelming. I got the mio stuff for water w caffeine, and still drinking tea from time to time. I just don't think I can't give up caffeine TOO. My dr doesn't say I have to do that. I actually already feel better after 1 week of no aspartame (im giving up all artificial sweeteners as well...no reason to go thru surgery and all this to get healthy if im going to kill myself with chemicals right?)

Having second thoughts!
PeacockMama replied to jenniferg's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery is March 12. I try not to think about what "could" go wrong. If we all did that about everything, nobody would ever leave their house, have a baby, or even take a shower (what if you slip and hit your head and die?)! My family is kind of supportive, but also worried for me. They know its a good thing for me, but of course they don't want anything to go wrong. In the end its your decision. I choose the "risk" of surgery for the pay off of having a healthy, happy, thin, energetic, prolonged life -
Walmart in the baby food section Im pretty sure they would be in most grocery stores, kmart, target...anywhere like that.

to sweeten, or not to sweeten...should it even be a question?
PeacockMama posted a topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Corny title, I know. Lol. Anyways, what do y'all use for sweeteners (like in tea)? Obviously not sugar. Im taking a stand against aspartame and splenda and all the artificial crap. So what's best? Honey, stevia, nectresse (sp?), agave...?? -
warning - gross and embarassing question
PeacockMama posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok, I am pre sleeve. I am so big in my thigh area that I have these bumps on my upper inner thigh from the heath/rubbing together. They're hard and painful. I guess you call them boils. They used to not be there before I gained all the weight. Wondering if anyone else had these and if they went away once you lost weight and didn't have your thighs rubbing together and sweating all the time. Sorry I know its disgusting but im really hoping weight loss makes them go away. -

Omg awesome thank y'all very much!! Can't wait for the day all these annoying fpp's (fat people problems) go away!! -
We can't have carbonation bc of the gas bubbles right? so can we open a drink, say a diet coke, and let it go flat before we drink it? Not all the time, but once in a while if I have a soda craving tht wont go away. Im pre surgery and I am just trying to think of my options.

I do have tickets (2, one for hubby). They aren't cheap at all! I don't get sky miles or anything like that. I think I got them on expedia for like $580 ballpark figure. So about 1200 for two tix. Very expensive (to me). -
Hey everyone! Getting sleeved March 12. Im already fantasizing about summer and where I will possibly be with weight loss. So, I would love if some sleevers posted quick stats. I would like to see age, gender, starting weight, weight loss 1 month out, 3 months, and 6 months (if applicable). Also, clothing size at each stage would be a bonus. Thanks!!

And yeah...weight creeps on. People always say you don't wake up fat...but you kind of do. You kno you're gaining weight, but it doesn't really hit you until one day. You wake up and its like "holy ****, I weight -______ amount. My clothes don't fit. What have I done?!" -

You said it! What are your stats (age, height, weight)? I am 28, @ about 250, and 5'5". I've had 4 kids (one set of twins and a singleton in the past 2 years!). Have been big my whole life but lost down to about 150 twice in my life. It never lasted longer than a yr or so though and I was miserable (starving and exercising like crazy, throwing up and all tht bs) -

anyone have implants BEFORE getting sleeve?
PeacockMama posted a topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Hey everyone! I have breast implants but got them very young. Now that I've gained all the extra weight they're larger and of course saggier. I am very curious to see what happens after I lose the weight. Will they be the way they were before? Will they shrink a little but still be a bit saggy? Anyone who has lost the weight and who had implants before surgery please let me know! -
Any March Sleevers?
PeacockMama replied to futuresleever's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Omg I think we are twins! I had a c section and 2 natural births, 7 tattoos, AND a breast augmentation. Everything except the hemorrhoids! Haha. I think you'll be fine to go back to teaching in 10 days! Most ppl take off a week or so,max. Some people go back to work in 4 or 5 days (I've heard). im a full time mommy of 9 month old twins, a 2 yr old, and 8 yr old. I will have 2 days in hosp after surgery (in juarez, mexico) then im flying home to georgia. when I get back, it'll be back to being a mommy with no time off. are you very curious how your implants will look when we lose all the extra fat on them? I know I sure am! Hopefully we wont lose all our assets, and the implant will keep them full. *fingers crossed*
