    only lost 10 lbs

I was also sleeved on 4/29. I have lost 14 pounds in 15 days. I am 5'3 and am currently at 2o7. Surgery weight was 221. I too struggle with hydration, just saw the md today... He said that i dehydration will really put us in a stall as well as complicate healing.

    First Post Op Weigh In

Must be... I get confused and thought I'd reach out and see.????
  4. I would be cautious. Before my sleeve I used a cpap at 9 and lost 30#s. had to have my pressure lowered BECAUSE IT WAS PUMPING AIR INTO MY BELLY! It was lowered to a 7. I've lost an additional 15 ( so far ), and I anticipate soon ill need another adjustment. Newer machines have a sensor that will monitor your apnea events. But your med supply respiratory therapist needs to do after an order for your Md. Deciding on discharging your cpap on your own is not a great idea. Call your Md.

    First Post Op Weigh In

I'm confused.... Sx was on April 29th, today is May 8th that's only 9 days - not 3 weeks. Is my math wrong? I'm just confused. I am sorry if I read your post wrong. I'm trying to figure out what is typical for 1 week POST OP weight loss only, not the PRE op stuff too.

    Shakes

I LOVED THE HMR!!!! But they were so expensive. I use Bariatric Advantage vanilla and mix it with Fat Free milk - shake it up and let it sit in the refrigerator for an hour ( or how ever long it takes me to finish the 1 scoop to 1 cup milk ). It tastes really great! My husband has asked me to make him one for deserts!!!

    Headaches

Kidding... I had the same issue a few days (3) post op. I stopped narcotics, and took 2 Tylenol 3xs daily. Headaches were gone the next day.

    Can anyone help

It helped me. It was one of the Dx I needed to get the approval. I LOVE my cpap. I use the nasal cannula, and feel so great each morning. In the summer I really love the gentle air movement on my chest and arms. Do your best to get used to it... It may become a 'treat' like mine is to me. On a side note... I've lost 30#s and have to have my pressure REDUCED! I'm a bit concerned that after I have the VSG, I will NO LONGER NEED my friend the Cpap.
  12. ... I am 7 days out from my surgery date. I have been required to engage in a liquid ( with some green veggies ) diet for 2 weeks prior. I am struggling... I ate dinner with my kids ( 11 and 12 ) on Sunday night and today ( Monday ) I just ate some chicken Strips. I have lost 32 pounds in the 6 months the insurance required. Approval was not difficult, all my testing went fine. But now that I am so close and I am struggling... Do you think its a 'sign' that I am really not a great candidate? Maybe I dont have what it takes to be a successful VSG'r? My husband is out of town on business and is so supportive. He typically takes the kids and lets me go to bed... and hide from eating. But since I am on my own for this 2 week period I am wondering if ... well... I am a doubter and paranoid as a rule. I am not looking for approval for my cheat! I just feel FOREIGN in my own skin and am worried that I maybe making a mistake ... again. As nothing I have tried has been something I could stay with for a life time. I see my surgeon on Wednesday. He is a bit of an intense personality, have met him once. He comes highly recommended, several of my friends have used him. Funny to think that I don't want him to be disappointed in me or reject me because I have not lost much on the liquid diet because I am not able to stick to the stringent plan. Am I feeling a NORMAL stage? Is this typical for someone 7 days out? Is this a 'sign' that the VSG is not for me?
  13. thanks... I needed the advice form the other side of the SLEEVE!
  14. Yea... Feel like I could swim away!!! Lol. I'm EXHAUSTED by 4 ( I work at 6 am ). Can not seem to sleep enough.
  15. You know... Thinking about it... I feel the EXACT way I did in the few weeks before I had my first child. 3 weeks before she was born I started thinking... 1. I'm not ready 2. What if I'm not good at this 3. How could I give up 'MY LIFE' ... The only way of life I e ever known! Long story short... I would not change my decision to have my daughter in my life ( or my son who followed shortly after ). Life is about choices... Following through on our decisions. I believe that God has lead me to where I am currently, has cleared the path for me ( as the approval process was without any issues- even when I tried to dream some problems up ) and has blessed me with the loving supportive husband, brother, sister. I'm going to take it on! One hour at a time! I've always thought I was an 'displaced alcoholic' - food being my addiction. I'm going to take it hour by hour, which quickly turns in to days, weeks and one day... I will notice its been YEARS!
  16. Sniff... Sniff... I'm in the same boat.... I've worked so hard for 6 months to get this done, I'm approved, have a date 4/30... I'm at the 2 week liquid diet part. I'm so emotional... I'm feeling out of touch... Feeling like... Well... Like .... Can I really live this way? Is it going to be this hard AFTER? I've been pumped and jazzed with the Goal Ahead of me... But now... Less than 2 weeks... I'm worried that I won't be able to live like this.
