1. :help:I was just banded this past Thursday, May 24th. All went very well and I feel good for the most part. Just a little bit sore and pretty gassy. However, I can hardly talk. My voice is almost gone and I'm getting squeakier as time goes on. My throat feels a little swollen but does not hurt. Has anyone had this problem? Any advice on how to get my voice back?

Doctor Says its a no-go - Any solutions?

I was just banded this past Thursday, May 24th. Doc found a hiatal hernia when he began the surgery, so he stopped and repaired the hernia & then proceeded with the banding. Prior to my banding, I had quite alot of acid reflux & was on Omprazole for it. Doc was aware of that and never mentioned anything about that disallowing me to be a good candidate for the band. I would see another doc & get another opinion before I switched gears to the bypass. Good luck & keep us updated on your progress!

    Newbie Colorado

Hi Wiseman---What part of Colorado are you in? I'm being banded on Thursday by Dr. Johnell in Greeley. I did alot of research on several Colorado docs and was really impressed by Dr. Johnell and his staff. Another doc that I was impressed with was Reginald Bell in Littleton. The fact that the lap band is completely 100% reversible was a real selling point for me. I'm nervous as I get closer to time, but I'm confident that this is the right decision for me. Hope you find a doc that you like. Keep us posted on your progress.
  4.
I am being banded on Thursday. I am sure that this is the right choice for me but I'm getting a little nervous as the time gets closer. I've done my research & am comfortable with the band but nervous about the time immediately following surgery. What is the day of surgery really like for the patient? Are you sleepy most of the day or are you 'with it' most of the time? What can I expct? I would appreciate any help you can give me!
