  1. Happy 42nd Birthday caz1970!

  2. Thank you so much, for the really helpful answers! I have a good doctor, who will refer to a lapband doctor, if I choose to have this done! My eating is tied so much in my depression. When I am depressed I don't care what I eat! And when I am well, I tend to look after myself better, and eat better, but am left with all this weight! I need to get an anti depressant that doesn't make me put weight on, as some have made me feel worse and put on lots of weight! Thank you again. I am sure I will be reading lots of peples views on here, because you have done the hard work, and lived with the same problems that have led us all here!
  3. Thank you! I think I will go through with it, but I suffer from depression, so need to fix my head and my body, and hope that by losing the weight, I will get out more a get a life!
  4. This is my main fear. How safe is this operation? I know a man who had this done, and it changed his life, for the better! He has lost 100lbs, and now goes to the gym, and walks around like he is light as a feather, he is so happy and outgoing! I would love to have it done too, after yo yoing up and down with my weight for years. Thankyou for any help!
  5. Hi from a new member! I am at my heaviest ever (about 280lbs) and have suffered with clinical depression, for years. I am on and off anti-depressants, which make me put on weight, so I go on them, get mentally better, but am left with more weight, so end up depressed again. And I have lost weight over the years, only to put back more! I would love to have a band fitted, and I know this would help my self esteem and my health (swollen ankles, breathlessnes, no energy) I would like opinions from anyone please. Do I seek this operation, or should I try to conquer my depression(after 20years, I am not doing a good job) Thankyou for any help!
  6. Hi! There seems to be this idea that some people have, that you are "guilty" of being fat! Of course we have done this to ourselves, but we never wanted it, and no one wants to be fat and unhealthy! Some people think you should suffer to lose weight, and if you have a band, or other surgery, you are cheating, and that really annoys some people. And to think these are supposed to be family and friends? They should get educated about obesity and stop being ignorant! And then there are the people who are terrified of gaining weight, and put all their negative thoughts on you, to make themselves feel better! Ignore them if they don't want to listen!
