    KC ☼ MO Approved!

Hello and best wishes from St. Louis, MO! I was sleeved on 5/31 and have no regrets!!! (The pre-op and first week or so post-op were rough, I'm not gonna lie but it gets a ton better pretty quickly and I'm pretty much feeling normal now).

    Sip, Pain, Gurgle!

Not sure how far post op you are but this happened to me up to 3 weeks post op. It diminished over time and now 6 weeks post op it rarely happens.
  3. I'm going on vacation for the next week and leaving my scale at home. Sure hope it has good news for me when I return.

No Scale for the Next Week

Ok, this vacation induced scale hiatus is not easy! Haven't weighed since Saturday and I'm dying to know if / how much I've lost. I feel like I've lost but have no easy means of telling. Oh well, will just enjoy my lake time and look forward to good news when I'm reunited with my scale this weekend.

Wonder if the wife who shops at Kohl's is the least likely to cheat.

54 and beginning a new chapter!

Hi Pat - I also live in St. Peters and had my surgery with Dr. Scott on 5/31/2013. He has been fantastic and I've had no issues. I think he is one of the best in the STL area. Best wishes to you and if you decide to do the support groups at Des Peres, I should be there.

    I lied.

Go to the original thread as it sounds like this retraction possibly isn't "the whole truth and nothing but the truth". I'm simply at a loss now....

    I lied.

If this is the whole truth and nothing but the truth, I do think the other threads need to be removed to avoid any confusion or bad information for future readers. Not cool to mess with somebody's reputation. Just bewildered right now.

    hi from Missouri

Heading to Table Rock Lake for the next week. Hoping to be able to ride the new roller coaster at Silver Dollar City this fall!!!
  13. I was able to have canned tuna and crackers in week 4. I've had tuna salad on crackers 3-4 times this past week and only had an issue once when I think I ate too quickly. Today (week 5) I get to add thin sliced deli meat, soft beans, avocado and melons.

    Beware! woman traveling to TJ

Hmmmm, me thinks we need a little less judgement and a lot more compassion. Just sayin'

    What could be causing this?

If you take blood pressure meds, they could be causing it. I had the same thing about 2.5 weeks out and went to the emergency room. My nutrition and hydration were fine but my blood pressure was really low. The doctor told me to stop blood pressure meds and consult with primary. Good luck!

    So...tell me about dilation!

What happens when you try other stuff? I'm having a lot of discomfort in my chest area when I eat more solid food but I can get it down. I'm wondering if this is just normal at almost 4 weeks out or perhaps I'm eating too fast. It's not the size of my bites 'cause they are tiny and I'm chewing big time. Or, maybe I'm having the same problem as you? Just curious what happens or how it feels for you so I know if it's similar. Hope everything works out for you -- keep us posted.
  19. Also - you might want to change your font color as it barely shows up on the white. :-)
  20. Hi PattO - Dr. French and Erica are great! And, Dr. Scott is very good and I've had no issues. I researched several Dr's as well and also chose him. My insurance approval just took a few days (I'm with CIGNA) but I was also told 2 weeks. I requested a Friday so I was scheduled 3 weeks from the date of my approval but if you are flexible with your date, you probably won't have to wait as long. Good luck to you and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
  21. Yes but I just made it with Water.

    Grieving My Old Stomach

To a certain degree, I can relate. So much of my social life and what I did seemed to be centered around food (dinners, happy hours, movies, etc...) - it's tough in the early weeks as it's difficult to eat anything away from home. I'm in my 4th week post op and I can say it DOES get better. My husband took me out to dinner Friday and I was able to get a yummy red snapper filet --- I could only eat half of it and none of the sides but it was so good and it was nice to be out and eating healthy!!! I took the other half home and enjoyed it over the weekend. I think you will find it's much easier in a few weeks when your food choices aren't so limited. Hang in there --- it's not easy but the rewards are fantastic (I think!). Good luck!

    Hooray for the mush!

I liked several of the Campbell's slow kettle cooked soups. I pureed them -- they tasted great!
