Hi fiona, Southern Cross havea one off fee at the discretion of the Cheif medical officer of $6000. I have been approved for this entitlement. You have to have had continuous medical insurance for 3 years to qualify. lucky my husbands work pay for the medical insurance and we dont. As I have two children 5 and 7 so finances are very tight. Alot depends on this operation I have to make it work and Band Slippage is a big worry for me. Excited but apprehensive june bandster

hi All Can any one tell me how common Band Slippage is, that is the part that really concerns me as My husband and I are extending our mortgage to have this operation and how ever will we afford the cost again if the band slips??? does it slip because the bander is eatingt the wrong foods? does any one know??? and can advise me??? And excited but apprehensive June 29 Bandster

Hi thanks mikey 1969, I am so glad I found this forum before i have surgery, it is so helpful just talking to poeple that have been through this, The best support is poeple who have walked in the over weight shoe and can really understand, I to have a ver skinny husband but a very supportive husband, I have not explained this to the children as yet. I will need to tell them as I will not be eating the same food as them for a while. has any one else got children mine are 5 and 7.

hi All, Thanks insubordination, and well done to you. I think any loss is a good loss as far as I am concerned. My Surgery is booked for June 29th, I am looking forward to it but I am a little scared at the same time. I see my surgeon this week for all the booking procedure so it really is happening. I guess I am very lucky I have a supportive husband through all of this, Have any of you told many people about this operation? or have you kept it quiet? I really am not sure if I should tell people fro fear of people judging me? well better go now and get the children ready for school, talk to you all later. Kiwi counting down to surgery.
